In recent years, pollinosis immunotherapy has been attracting much attention, however, the administration methods of vaccine drugs have been limited to the subcutaneous injection or the sublingual administration. In this study, we developed a transdermal vaccine administration strategy for the simple and non–invasive pollinosis immunotherapy. For the transdermal antigen delivery, the presence of stratum corneum, the hydrophobic outermost layer of the skin, is an obstacle. Another problem with current pollinosis immunotherapy is side effects of using the whole allergen molecules. To overcome these issues, we applied a solid–in–oil (S/O) nanodispersion, which is composed of hydrophilic antigen molecules coated with hydrophobic surfactants, and enables transdermal penetration of the antigen molecules into the skin. In addition, we introduced a T cell epitope peptide derived from the cedar pollen allergen (PepA : SMKVTVAFNQFGP), which had shown lower risks of the side effects. We succeeded in preparing an S/O nanodispersion containing PepA. The oil–based S/O system enhanced the skin penetration of the PepA. Antigen specific IgE levels in the murine models were significantly reduced by the S/O administration. Activations of the type–1 helper T and regulatory T cells were also confirmed, which indicates the effectiveness of the pollinosis immunotherapy using the S/O vaccine system.

Enzymatic esterification reaction of erythritol and oleic acid was carried out in the reaction system of controlled water content. A higher conversion was obtained when the water content in the system was adjusted ranging from 1, 000 to 4, 000 ppm. It was shown that the water in such systems was bound to the enzyme protein and needed for appearance of the enzyme activity. The process of crystallization of erythritol appeared to be effective for the acceleration of lipase-catalyzed synthesis.

In this article, we report a novel oil gel sheet, which is contained ascorbic acid and hyaluronic acid as an ingredient of cosmetics. An efficient permeation method of the ingredients into a deep skin would be a key technology to develop novel functional cosmetics. The outer surface of the skin that is stratum corneum has a strong barrier to avoid the invasion of hazardous materials into our body. The barrier function causes the difficulty in the transport of effective ingredients into a deep region of our skin. To overcome this problem, solid-in-oil (S/O) nano dispersion technique has been developed by coating the ingredients with hydrophobic surfactant molecules. The coated hyaluronic acid was well dispersed in an oil phase and its permeation rate into the skin was significantly enhanced by the formation of the complex. An oil gel sheet was created by utilizing the S/O techniques for ascorbic acid and hyaluronic acid. The oil gel sheet could improve the moisture condition of faces by using at least 30 minutes.

Extraction behavior of cobalt from sulfate media containing excess manganese by mixtures LIX63 and several amines was investigated. The addition of amines shifted cobalt extraction isotherm to higher pH region in all case. The degree of the pH isotherm shifts depended on the basicity of each amine in the case of manganese however did not depend on it in the case of cobalt. The separation ability of cobalt from manganese was highest in case of LIX63 and primary amine system.

FRIP法は,DNA中の既知のSNPsを検出する技術である.1つの品種に対して1組の蛍光ドナー/アクセプタープローブを用いることで,特定の種であるか否かを判別可能であり,解析時間も短く,高精度で解析できる特徴を持つ.本研究では,2色の蛍光プローブを用いたFRIP法により,太平洋産および大西洋産クロマグロの同時種判別技術を開発した.FITC標識した太平洋産クロマグロ識別用プローブおよびTAMRA標識した大西洋産クロマグロ識別用プローブを同一溶液中に混合した.6種のマグロサンプルからそれぞれ転写RNAを調製し,プローブとのハイブリダイゼーション反応を行ったところ,すべてのサンプルにおいて,一旦FRETによる蛍光の消光が確認された.さらに得られたDNA : RNAハイブリッド溶液にRNase Aを添加すると,ミスマッチの有無に応答して蛍光強度に変化が生じ,精度良く種を判別できた.同様の結果は,UV光を励起光として用いた目視判別用の濃縮反応液においても確認された.FRIP法は,簡易,迅速,高精度で安価な分析法として,様々な場面で利用されるものと期待される.
