Lignin is the most abundant aromatic polymer and renewable resources. At present lignin mostly is burned in the pulping process for energy recovery. However, attractive market for lignin will be established towards the substitution of fossil resources. In this article, present markets for lignin are reviewed and promising markets are discussed.
