なお、本船は上部構造物に流線形を採用して所要馬力を数百低減させつつ、その優美な姿が称賛されていたりもするが、強風の場合甲板室の周囲に風下となる部分がなくなり、船員の交通に支障が出る、といったこともあったようだ。
