We observed sphaeriid clams attached to the digits of salamanders distributed in wetlands of eastern Hokkaido, Japan. One of the clams in either the genus Euglesa or Odhneripisidium was found on a salamander (Salamandrella keyserlingii) captured on dry land, showing that the clam was being transported by a land-walking amphibian. It is possible that sphaeriid clams migrate between water areas using salamanders to expand their distribution.

貝類の移動で思い出しましたが、この論文のfig.1とfig.2はかわいすぎると思います。 https://t.co/a3jAseKk3E
HOWEVER, the reason I'm ranting about this lil clam fam is because they can also apparently get around by snapping salamander toes! Figure - which is now 100% a favourite - is from Terui & Akiyama 2021 (https://t.co/MEazCGfiFa) and they saw they witnessed it more than ONCE!! https://t.co/WaBogmxt59
