A large number of Photobacterium phosphoreum (6-7 log/g) was isolated from “tamagoyaki” (a kind of nigirisushi; Japanese food) that had been lumineferous in the dark. The isolates were smeared on the surfaces of sliced “tamagoyakis”. After the incubation at 10°C for 48 hr or at 25°C for 24 hr, the surfaces became luminous. It was indicated that this abnormality of “tamagoyaki” was caused by contamination with and multiplication by P. phosphoreum.On the surface of “tamagoyaki”, the bacteria in an early growth phase in such a small number as 4 log/g luminesced. Furthermore, the luminescence was observed when pieces of squid, boiled prawn or “yakichikuwa” (a kind of food made of fishes) with the bacteria were incubated, but not observed on pickled Japanese gizzard shad. Nevertheless the the bacteria grew on the surface of tuna, but no luminescence was observed on it.The bacteria produced a small amount of histamine on squid and tuna (less than 250μg/g), and their ability to putrefy food seemed to be low.The opitmum concentration of sodium chloride for growth of the bacteria in a medium was 3%, but they grew in food containing sodium chloride less than 0.5%. When sodium chloride in the medium was replaced by potassium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, ammonium chloride or sodium phosphate, the bacteria were still able to grow but unable to grow when replaced by potassium phosphate or sucrose. The bacteria metabolized arginine by arginine decarboxylase but not by arginine dehydrolase.

Edmund Burke is generally recognized as the father of modern conservatism. For conservaties, he has been a continuing source of inspiration and a reservoir of ideas to counter the steady growth of radicalism and revolution since his day. As a conservative, what Burke had to conserve before everything else was the British Constitution. It seemed to him the best of constitutions. He did not regard the British Constitution as perfect, but he looked upon it as perfect for Englishmen. The purpose of this study is to clear the conservative political thought of Edmund Burke by considering his "Speech to the Electors of Bristol" and his plan for Economical Reform.

公共の場で活動するソーシャルロボットが期待されている.ソーシャルロボットは人々の興味を引き,かつ有意義なサービス提供ができる可能性がある.しかし,興味を引かれてロボットと相互作用を始めた子供たちの行動が,ときに行き過ぎ,ロボットに対して攻撃行動を起こすことが明らかになってきた.観察実験によって,ロボットに関心を示した子供のうち,合計で117回の執拗な攻撃行動を観測した.子供たちはロボットに暴言を吐き,蹴り,叩くなどの行動でロボットの活動を執拗に妨害していた.本論文では,ロボットに対する執拗な攻撃行動を「ロボットいじめ」と名付け,この現象の緩和を試みる.この目的のために,子供のロボットいじめ行動をモデル化し,ロボットがモデルを用いてロボットいじめ行動を事前にシミュレートし回避可能にさせる.モデルを歩行者シミュレーションへ導入することで,子供のロボットいじめ行動をシミュレーション上で再現できるようにした.また,本論文では,ロボットいじめ行動のシミュレーションをロボットの将来行動の計画に用いる,というシミュレーションに基づいた行動計画方法を提案する.ロボットは,センサシステムから現在の状況を取得し,自らの行動に対して子供たちがどのような行動をして,その結果,近い将来どのような状況が生じるのかをこのシミュレーション上で検討する.このシミュレーション結果を比較することで,ロボットいじめが起きにくい行動を選択する.この「ロボットいじめのシミュレーションに基づいた行動計画」システムを構築した.実際のショッピングモールでシステムを用いた実験を行ったところ,ロボットいじめの生起を抑制できたことを確認した.

Although a causal relationship has been suggested between Team Identification and Place Attachment, it may be necessary to verify the existence of the parameters between them. In this research, "The rise of Team Identification is accompanied by the rise in the evaluation of the social environment of the community, and leads to the rise of Place Attachment," was aimed at the hypothesis to be verified.    As a result of the two-way analysis of variance based on data from three longitudinal surveys, we determined that Team Identification ascending group significantly increased both Place Attachment and the bonds of the community as compared to the non-ascending group, and it was suggested that the evaluation of the social environment of the community rose in the ascending group. It can be said that the hypothesis was supported, considering the fact that "regional attachment influence structure" was confirmed in Imabari-City, the area of survey on this study.

Dual system of vocational education and training in Germany has been undergoing periodic revisions to meet new requirements in a changing environment and it still maintains a pivotal position in German labor market. However, those reforms to reflect the changes in technology and industry structure have caused dualization and diversification of training occupations, resulting in the co-existence of those requiring more abstract knowledge and theories and those primarily requiring OJT. In the former, dual system now competes with higher education such as universities in order to secure highly capable young people. Low birth rate and globalization of education and labor markets have also increased the interest of German youth in higher education. To cope with this situation, German firms have invented new training options in order to attract highly capable youth, who have graduated from gymnasium with very good scores. For example, dual study program (DSP) is a hybrid system which offers apprentices opportunities of participation in firmbased OJT and higher education at the same time, while receiving training allowances. Since both initial vocational qualification and bachelor degree can be obtained on fast track, DSP is rapidly gaining popularity. More training options are now available for highly capable German youth, while it is becoming more difficult for graduate from hauptschule, a major supplier of apprentices in the past, to receive training positions that lead to good income. In addition, active updating and sophistication of existing occupations have been accompanied by a side effect of crowding out small companies from dual system due to increased costs. Similarly, DSPs are offered almost exclusively by large firms. Thus, within German vocational education and training, disparities among firms as well as among apprentices are now becoming more salient. When we look at another important institution of collective bargaining, coverage ratio of industry based agreements have now substantially fallen. Segmentalization or dualization of collective bargaining and vocational education and training are observed simultaneously.

将来の新エネルギーを創出すると期待されている核融合技術には,燃料となるトリチウムが大量に使用され,放射線作業従事者のトリチウムによる被曝が懸念される.また福島第一原子力発電所の廃炉作業の工程では,発生しているトリチウム汚染水対策による,作業従事者の健康問題が懸念されている.トリチウム被曝の形態は,低線量・低線量率の内部被曝が想定されるが,経口・吸入・皮膚吸収により体内に取り込まれたトリチウム水は,全身均一に分布することから影響は小さくないと考えられる.さらに有機結合型トリチウムは生体構成分子として体内に蓄積され,長期被曝を生じるので,トリチウムの化学形の考慮は重要となる.トリチウムの生体影響を検討するために,生物学的効果をX線や γ線と比較する必要があり,トリチウムの生物学的効果比(RBE)の研究が多くされてきた.本総説では,確率的影響に分類される放射線発がんや,発がんの原因となる突然変異など生物効果を指標にして得られたRBEについて紹介する.加えて,近年開発されてきた,低線量・低線量率被曝の生物影響を検出可能な遺伝子改変マウスを使った動物実験系の原理と,トリチウム実験の概要についても紹介する.

乳児用粉ミルクに工業廃棄物由来のヒ素化合物が混入して大規模な被害が発生した森永ヒ素ミルク中毒事件は,今年2005年8月24日,公式発表から50年目を迎える.しかし,事件の全体像は今なお把握されていない.被害者に対する恒久救済機関の運営実態への疑問の声もある.被害者の現在を正視すると同時に,事件史の教訓を徹底的に整理する必要がある.病因物質が市場に流通してから恒久救済機関が発足するまでの約20年を振り返ると,食中毒事件における疫学と事故調査の独立性の必要が指摘できる.また,事後対応における行政と専門家の関係についての課題も指摘できる.本格的な歴史研究のためには本事件に関連する一次資料の収集・保存が必要である.

The Copper Pheasant Syrmaticus soemmerringii is endemic to Japan and information on its breeding ecology in the wild is fragmentary. To examine the breeding schedule and mating system of this species, I set artificial feeding stations at three sites in Mie Prefecture, Japan, from 2003 to 2009, and observed courtship display, drumming, wattle around the eye, and molt of individuals. Individuals were identified mainly by body (and tail) size and plumage color. The egg-laying period was estimated to be from mid-March to April, based on the breeding schedule of individuals in cages. Males and females had bright red wattles from late-February to April and late-February to May, respectively. The mating period was obscure because courtship displays were observed in June, September and November. Males molted their tail from late June to early November. Some young females and adult females used feeders together until the following May. If they belonged to the same family, the family period lasted for one year. Young males disappeared from the family group in late August. At each feeding station, there was one male and female that continued to use the feeder and appeared together at the feeder. Although other males and females sometimes used the feeder, courtship displays were observed only between the male and female that used the feeder continuously. Only the male that continually used the feeder showed drumming by wing whirring. These results suggest that the Copper Pheasant is socially monogamous.
