本研究では,トレーディングカードゲームにおけるカードのシャッフルを扱う.まず,シミュレーションプログラムを用いてシャッフル手法について分析し,理想的なシャッフル手法の提案を目的とする.また,シャッフル手法の分析を行うために,シャッフルの結果を視覚的に表示する方法を提案する.分析の結果,各シャッフル手法の特徴が分かった.また,制限時間の長短に応じて適切なシャッフル手法が変わる可能性が示唆された.複数のシャッフル手法の組合せも行い,同じ組合せであっても実行順序が結果に大きな影響を与えることを実験的に示した.

EPUB3は,HTMLとCSSなどのWeb技術に基づいた電子書籍フォーマットである。EPUB3は国際化されており,その1つとして日本語組版を扱うことができる。縦書き等の機能は,まずW3CにおいてCSS Writing ModesとCSS Textを作成し,次にIDPFにおいてこれらをもとにEPUB3を作成することによって導入された。この標準化経験に基づいて,国際的標準化において日本が陥りやすい落とし穴を指摘し,成功するアプローチを示唆する。

著者の唱える「物性心理学」によると、現代のさまざまな心理学的な現象の背景に、われわれが日常使用する衣食住の生活用品の材質からくる特性の反映があることを指摘した。特に、多用されている「プラスチック樹脂」の製造過程や廃棄処分に伴い溶け出す「環境ホルモン」の影響により、現出すると推測されている性別未分化症候群としての「性同一性障害」や「同性愛志向」、あるいは、軽度発達障害や自律神経失調症等の「化学物質過敏症」が憂慮されている。それは「プラスチック心性」と名づけた本来の自然性が損なわれた「~もどき」のまがいものや生理学的な内分泌撹乱の為せる業の帰結であると考えられる。奇しくも化学合成の産出物が「心理材質論」を裏づける人間模様を染め出していることがわかったのである。もうすでに手遅れのきらいがあるが、少しでも自然に回帰するべく、「グリーンケミストリー」になじむ草や木の材質を取り込むところから醸し出される、「木の性格」や「木質心性」への環境復活が早急に求められると言えよう。

原著論文Benedetto et al. recently confirmed the validity of a method for measuring similarity using data compression software. Despite its potential, this method has not yet been applied to the field of information science. The present study proposes the use of CIR, a modified method that uses an improved ratio of compression, and describes two experiments on authorship attribution using data from modern Japanese literature. The first experiment compares the results of applying CIR and Benedetto's method to test collections of modified data (fixed length) using aprocedure similar to that described by Matsuura et al. The second experiment is based on original data (variable length).The first experiment showed an average precision rate of 97.7% for CIR, while Benedetto's method gave a rate of 90.5%. Our recent work has shown that cannabidiol (CBD) exhibits the most potent direct inhibition of human cytochrome P450 1A1 (CYP1A1) among the CYP enzymes examined. However, the mechanism underlying this CBD inhibition remains to be clarified. Thus, to elucidate the structural requirements for the potent inhibition by CBD, the effects of CBD and its structurally related compounds on CYP1A1 activity were investigated with recombinant human CYP1A1. Olivetol, which corresponds to the pentylresorcinol moiety of CBD, inhibited the 7-ethoxyresorufin O-deethylase activity of CYP1A1; its inhibitory effect (IC50=13.8 µM) was less potent than that of CBD (IC50=0.355 µM). In contrast, d-limonene, which corresponds to the terpene moiety of CBD, only slightly inhibited CYP1A1 activity. CBD-2′-monomethyl ether (CBDM) and CBD-2′,6′-dimethyl ether inhibited CYP1A1 activity with IC50 values of 4.07 and 23.0 µM, respectively, indicating that their inhibitory effects attenuated depending on the level of methylation on the free phenolic hydroxyl groups in the pentylresorcinol moiety of CBD. Cannabidivarin inhibited CYP1A1 activity, although its inhibitory potency (IC50=1.85 µM) was lower than that of CBD. The inhibitory effects of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabielsoin (IC50s ≈10 µM), which contain a free phenolic hydroxyl group and are structurally constrained, were less potent than that of CBDM, which contains a free phenolic hydroxyl group and is rotatable between pentylresorcinol and terpene moieties. These results suggest that the pentylresorcinol structure in CBD may have structurally important roles in direct CYP1A1 inhibition, although the whole structure of CBD is required for overall inhibition.

石川県特産のフグ卵巣ぬか漬けでは,有毒卵巣がぬか漬け後に食用となるので,その減毒への微生物関与の可能性を検討した。ぬか漬け製造中の桶の液汁を採取し,これにフグ毒を添加して貯蔵を行い,その毒性を測定すると共に,ぬか漬けの微生物185株をフグ毒培地に各々接種し,培養後の培地の毒性を測定した。また,フグ毒培地にぬか漬けを直接接種,培養して,毒性変化を調べ,毒分解活性を有する微生物を増菌して分離しようと試みた。しかし,一連の実験では,微生物関与と考えられる明確な毒性低下を確認できなかった。

The graduate schools in Japan have been expanding since 1990's. In this paper, we focused on the doctoral courses of humanities & social sciences which have been limited in research and analysis as compared with natural sciences and analyzed the employment qualifications in the academic market. To put it concretely, we conducted quantitative analysis of application qualifications by using the data of JREC-IN (Japan Research Career Information Network). Through this analysis, we 1) analyzed the employment situation of doctoral students in humanities & social sciences, 2) investigated the qualifications and employability expected in the academic market, and 3) extracted the prospective problems of the doctoral education in humanities & social sciences.

The first objective data showing the geographical locations of people in Fukushima after the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident, obtained by an analysis of GPS (Global Positioning System)-enabled mobile phone logs, are presented. The method of estimation is explained, and the flow of people into and out of the 20 km evacuation zone during the accident is visualized.(Communicated by Toshimitsu YAMAZAKI, M.J.A.)

The severe accident that broke out at Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power stations on March 11, 2011, caused seemingly infinite damage to the daily life of residents. Serious and wide-spread contamination of the environment occurred due to radioactive materials discharged from nuclear power stations (NPSs). At the same time, many issues were highlighted concerning countermeasures to severe nuclear accidents. The accident is outlined, and lessons learned are extracted with respect to the safety of NPSs, as well as radiation protection of residents under the emergency involving the accident. The materials of the current paper are those released by governmental agencies, academic societies, interim reports of committees under the government, and others.(Communicated by Toshimitsu YAMAZAKI, M.J.A.)

This paper is a survey of how the town of Washimiya became the "sacred place" for anime fans ever since fans from all around the country rushed to visit the town after it was used as a setting for the animation "Lucky Star", leading also to the town successfully holding two events for these fans. The following three points were discussed. 1)The process leading up to the town becoming a "sacred place". 2)The process leading up to the town welcoming tourists. 3)The roles of tourist related corporations outside the town. As a result, it was found that in each process the local commerce and industry association played a central role. It was also found that with the town's commerce and industry association at the core, a local shrine, local shops, fans, and corporations from outside the region (copyright owners and a tourist agency) were able to build a relationship of mutual benefit as a backdrop to the current success.
