「化学物質」に対する消費者のイメージは、人工的なもの、有害(有毒)なものであって、自然界に存在しないものであることが明らかになった。消費者は主にマスメディアを通して化学物質に関する情報を受け取っているという結果が得られた。マスメディアが化学物質を大きく取り上げる時は、事件や事故の原因物質として特定された場合である。消費者は「生態系のすべての物は化学物質で構成されている」という認識がないので、マスメディアからの危険情報だけをそのまま蓄積していると考えられる。しかし、どの年代の人々でも化学に関する基礎的な話を聞くことによって化学物質の認識が変わり得ることも明らかになった。

将棋の歴代名人の強さを勝敗の結果と棋譜の内容から推定する。勝敗の結果から計算された2種類のレーティングは、どちらもこの20年間、羽生が最強のプレイヤであることを示した。またプロ、アマの合計6,500棋譜を将棋プログラム、Bonanza、GPSFishで解析した結果、羽生名人は大山15世名人よりレーティングで約230点上らしいことが分かった。同時に20棋譜程度で、すべての将棋プレイヤの棋力を推定できることを示した。

The use of published digital data, like the use of digitally published literature, depends upon the ability to identify, authenticate, locate, access, and interpret them. Data citations provide necessary support for these functions, as well as other functions such as attribution of credit and establishment of provenance. References to data, however, present challenges not encountered in references to literature. For example, how can one specify a particular subset of data in the absence of familiar conventions such as page numbers or chapters? The traditions and good practices for maintaining the scholarly record by proper references to a work are well established and understood in regard to journal articles and other literature, but attributing credit by bibliographic references to data are not yet so broadly implemented. This report discusses the current state of data citation practices, its supporting infrastructure, a set of guiding principles for implementing data citation, challenges to implementation of good data citation practices, and open research questions.

Oral mucosal lesions associated with foreign body injuries can have various origins, but traumatic lesions of the oral mucosa caused by other organisms are rare. Such cases thus require special knowledge for diagnosis. We report a case of oral stings from spermatophores of Todarodes pacificus, the Pacific squid. The patient was a 31-year-old woman who cooked the internal organs of a raw T. pacificus for lunch. She experienced a sharp pain on the tongue and buccal mucosa when eating the organs. On checking the oral cavity, she identified multiple white objects with a worm-like appearance sticking into the tongue and oral mucosa. Attempts to remove these objects herself were unsuccessful. She then visited the emergency department of our hospital. We examined the oral cavity and found multiple white objects appearing to be parasitic worms sticking into the tongue and oral mucosa. Attempts to remove the objects with forceps were unsuccessful because of tight attachment to the mucosa. Removal was thus achieved by making slight incisions under local anesthesia. The specimens showed a white spinate shape and were about 4mm long. Endoscopic examination of the upper digestive tract after treatment of the oral cavity revealed no additional foreign bodies. The final pathological diagnosis was spermatophores of T. pacificus.

権大外記であった中原康富(1400頃-57)の日記。ただし応永8年の1巻は祖父重貞のものと推定されており、康富の日記は応永24年(1417)からである。書状や文書の裏を再利用して書かれている。途中にかなり欠落もあるが、長期にわたり書き継がれ、朝廷、室町幕府の動向、公家社会や自己の生活の有様を詳細に記録している。政治、経済、社会、文化にわたり当時の状況を知るための重要史料である。

近年、フリーターの増加が社会問題となっているが、学校から職業への「移行」(Transition)に関する研究からは、性別では女性が、また、学歴・家庭背景などが相対的に低い状況にある若者がフリーターになりやすいことが指摘されている。しかし、若者のフリーター「選択」に影響を与える要因についての量的な検討は多くはない。 本論文は、フリーター選択と近年着目されている社会的ネットワークとの関係に着目し、高校3年生を対象とした質問紙調査から、限定された社会的ネットワークがフリーター選択に影響を与えているかどうかについて検討を行った。その結果、高校生のネットワーク構造は「安定・ホワイトカラー」「不安定・ブルーカラー」ネットワークの2つに分類され、「安定・ホワイトカラー」ネットワークに組み込まれている高校生はフリーターを選択せず、逆に「不安定・ブルーカラー」ネットワークに組み込まれている高校生はフリーターを選択する傾向が見られた。高校生が組み込まれている社会的ネットワークの存在が、若者たちの進路分化に影響を与えていることが示唆されたのである。

[Purpose] The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of physical therapy interventions in the treatment of sacroiliac joint dysfunction (SIJD). [Subjects and Methods] MEDLINE, PUBMED, CINAHL, AMED, PEDro, and CIRRIE databases were searched and only relevant data from studies that matched the inclusion criteria were included. CASP tools for critical appraisal were used to assess the quality of studies included. [Results] Nine articles met the inclusion criteria, of which, three examined the effect of exercise on SIJD, three used kinesio tape and four studies examined the effect of manipulation. Various outcomes were used including the visual analogue pain scale (VAS), Oswestry disability questionnaire (ODQ), numerical pain rating scale (NPRS) and pelvic position measurement (PALM, pelvimeter and photogrammetry). The quality of included studies ranged from low to average as the CASP tools revealed several limitations that affect the validity of the studies. The results showed that physiotherapy interventions are effective in reducing pain and disability associated with SIJD, with manipulation being the most effective approach and most commonly used within physical therapy clinics. [Conclusion] Manipulation, exercise and kinesio tape are effective in the treatment of pain, disability and pelvic asymmetry in SIJD.

囲碁における定石や将棋における定跡は,主にゲーム序盤で用いられる決まった手順の互角の応酬であり,長い時間をかけて研究・洗練された人智の結晶である.テトリスやぷよぷよなどの落下型パズルゲームの多くでも,展開を有利にするための定石形が存在し利用されている.これらのゲームを囲碁や将棋と比較すると,自分と相手双方に盤が存在し邪魔は間接的にしか行われない一方で,操作対象の与えられ方(俗にツモと呼ばれる)にランダム性があり,状況に応じて用いる定石や配置順を変えていかなければならない難しさがある.本論文では,関連性行列という形で状態と定石を表現する定石形配置法を提案し,これをぷよぷよにおける連鎖の構成に適用することでその有効性を示す.

ソフトウェア開発において、コードの記述や修正は避けて通れない工程である。そのため、開発期間の短期間化に実装工程の短縮化が必要である。コーディングを効率化する機能を持つエディタに、VimやEmacsが挙げられる。しかし、これらのエディタの機能を有効活用するためには操作の習熟が必要であり、その学習を支援する仕組みが存在しない。そこで本論文では、ユーザによるVim上でのキー入力を解析し、Vimやそのプラグインが有する機能により入力を短縮化できる箇所を検出して、その情報をユーザに提示することで学習を促す仕組みを提案する。被験者実験を通して、提案手法によりVimの操作の学習を支援できることを示す。

This paper argues that asexuality of the protagonists is the crucial element that drives Howard Overing Sturgis's novels, Tim (1891) and Belchamber (1904). The heroes and heroines in the late nineteenth century cannot deviate from the role models that "compulsory heterosexuality" imposes upon them. Sturgis's protagonists do not seemingly belong to the figure. However, they must develop their character under the pressure of the compulsory heterosexuality. Their asexuality does not provide them with other choices, which causes their tragedy. Tim, the protagonist of Tim, is a boy who loves only nature and has just expected that "the tender gracious figure" would come to him. He does not know what he is and has no erotic desire for anybody. However, two triangular relationships drive him to the awareness of gender and sexuality. The relationship with his father and his friend Carol makes him realize that he is not like other boys. The relationship with Carol and his girlfriend Violet reminds him of marriage, which in turn makes him realize that his love for Carol is similar to Jonathan's love for David in the First Book of Samuel: Tim's love for Carol is homoerotic. In other words, the compulsory heterosexuality drives asexual Tim to become a hero who dies when he confesses his homoerotic desire. Sainty, the protagonist of Belchamber, is a boy who loves embroidery. In his triangular relationship with his mother and his younger brother, whom the role of the hero of the story and the heir to Belchamber befits, Sainty becomes aware that he is "effeminate" and "not manly." Accordingly, he starts to take on the role of a mother. However, another triangular relationship with his vicious cousin and a pretty girl forces him to think about marriage with the girl. Also in Belchamber, compulsory heterosexuality dominates the life of the protagonist. Sainty's asexuality deprives him of other choices of living for him. Sturgis's works do not seem to have been properly assessed. According to the discussion on the process that the main characters are forced towards "the heroes," protagonists' asexuality makes the true value of the works invisible.

We here investigated and reported the effects of beer drinking on radiation-induced chromosome aberrations in blood lymphocytes. Human blood that was collected either before or after drinking a 700 ml beer was in vitro irradiated with 200 kVp X rays or 50 keV/μm carbon ions. The relation between the radiation dose and the aberration frequencies (fragments and dicentrics) was significantly (p < 0.05) lower for lymphocytes collected 3 h after beer drinking than those before drinking. Fitting the dose response to a linear quadratic model showed that the alpha term of carbon ions was significantly (p < 0.05) decreased by beer drinking. A decrease of dicentric formation was detected as early as 0.5 h after beer drinking, and lasted not shorter than 4.5 h. The mitotic index of lymphocytes was higher after beer drinking than before, indicating that a division delay would not be responsible for the low aberrations induced by beer drinking. An in vitro treatment of normal lymphocytes with 0.1 M ethanol, which corresponded to a concentration of 6-times higher than the maximum ethanol concentration in the blood after beer drinking, reduced the dicentric formation caused by X-ray irradiation, but not by carbonion irradiation. The beer-induced reduction of dicentric formation was not affected by serum. It is concluded that beer could contain non-ethanol elements that reduce the chromosome damage of lymphocytes induced by high-LET radiation.
