A follow-up survey of dandelion plants (Taraxacum) in 1990-1992, ten years after the initial survey using the same site designation methods in the southern Kanto district, revealed the following facts. Firstly, in the Tokyo urban area, the occurrence of both dandelion species had little changed; that is, the introduced one dominated there. Secondly, in the suburban areas, the number of lots in the recent survey where the native diploid species dominated had decreased compared with the previous survey, whereas the number of lots where the introduced species dominated had increased. Third, analysis of land-use in the two surveys revealed that a sharp decrease in cultivated fields, which are preferred by the native diploid species, caused a 48.7% drop in this dandelion's occurrence in the suburban areas. The count of the introduced dandelions also dropped by 3.5% in southern Tama, one suburb area. This species decreased in sites such as roadsides and vacant areas that have diminished, and increased on areas such as parking lots and children's playgrounds that have been expanded over the last ten years. These findings clarified the fact that decreases in habitat resulted in the retreat of ranges and declines in the frequency of occurrence for both dandelion species in the urban and suburban areas.

症例は49歳,男性。大量のインスリンを自己注射し自殺をはかり,心肺停止状態で搬送された。低血糖と判断し心肺蘇生を継続しながらただちに50%ブドウ糖液20 mlの静脈内投与を行った。その直後の大腿(動脈血)から採取した血糖値は1262 mg/dlと高値を呈していた。しかし,その5分後に採取した血糖値は33 mg/dl,さらにその4分後では305 mg/dlと短時間の間に激しく変動した。心肺蘇生時における循環時間の遅延により,ブドウ糖の血管内不均等分布を起こしたことが原因と考えられた。心肺蘇生中は,循環時間の遅延がブドウ糖投与後の血糖測定値に大きな影響を与えることを念頭に置くべきである。

The first Japanese translation of "<I>On Liberty</I>" by Keiu Nakamura was published in Shizuoka in 1872, and the first Chinese translation of the same book by Yen Fu was published in Shanghai in 1903. This paper intends to examine reception of Mill's ideas in modern Japan and China by comparing the two translations of chapter III of "<I>On Liberty</I>" on individuality.<BR>Nakamura and Yen Fu had studied in Englan-the former from 1866 to 1868 and the latter from 1877 to 1879-, and both of them endeavoured to introduce Western ideas to their countries. They learnt from the Mill's book the great importance of liberty of thought and action, especially individuality of thought and mode of life. In chapter III of "<I>On Liberty</I>", Mill emphasized individuality of character, and variety of situations as the conditions of individual happiness and social progress and he preferred active and energetic character to passive and indolent one. Their translations of "<I>On Liberty</I>" clearly reflected their deep sympathy with Mill's ideas <I>On Liberty</I>.<BR>While Mill contemplated the liberty of thought, discussion and mode of life in mid-Victorian England, he was anxious about the approaching mass society which would oppress individuality and variety by enforcing conformity of thought and action. Though Nakamura and Yen Fu were living in quite a different atmosphere, they sincerely accepted Mill's principle of liberty.Nakamura who was an eminent thinker of enlightenment in early Meiji Japan and Yen Fu who was a passionate patriot in semi-colonized China, respectively accepted Mill's idea of individuality as a springboard to enlighten their own nations' energy and morality. Their translations of "<I>On Liberty</I>" were the grand monuments of the reception of Western ideas in Japan and China.

当社では,CMMIをベースに改善したプロセスを全社に展開してきた.CMMIレベル3相当のプロセスは全社に浸透してきたが,まだオーバーランを引き起こすケースがまれに生じている.オーバーランを引き起こしている主な要因は,提案・見積・契約などの上流工程に存在することが多い.そこで,上流工程の一部である見積りに焦点をあて,見積り精度を改善する実践ノウハウと一般的な見積り技術を融合した社内の標準的な見積りモデルを構築し,ガイドを整備して社内展開を図ってきた.本稿では,今回の見積り標準モデルの構築やガイドの整備で考慮した点を中心に紹介する.

本論文はランダムアクセス衛星通信用スペクトル拡散復調回路を提案している.提案する構成は, ディジタルマッチトフィルタ出力の包絡線検出前および後に巡回積分器を設け, これらに適切な時定数を配分することにより周波数誤差による劣化を抑え低い拡散符号誤検出率を達成する.シミュレーションおよび実験により提案方式を評価した結果、Eb/No=-1dBにおける拡散符号誤検出率は10^<-10>以下であることを示した(検出区間50シンボル).さらにランダムアクセス信号の周波数誤差を抑えるため, サプライリンク信号を端末および中央地球局で周波数基準に用いる新たな周波数同期方式を提案している.提案方式は周波数誤差を大きく低減することを理論的に示した.

We have troubled ourselves about the pinholes of steel castings cast in green sand moulds, so studied the cause of the pinholes and made them clear to be in the relation to hydrogen gas.</br>  We made efforts chiefly to examine the influeuces of green sand factors on the pinholes, casting the samples of molten steel in various conditions of green sand moulds. And after analysed hydrogen gas of the samples, we checked up the fractures of them whether there were pinholes or not.</br>  The results obtained are as follows.</br> 1) It's proved that the pinholes of green sand mould castings are caused by hydrogen gas when it is contented over 8 cc.⁄100 gr. in the cast samples.</br> 2) When the clay % of green sand is 12% and moisture % is varried from 5% to 8%, hydrogen gas in cast samples increases with the increase of moisture, and the increased amounts are under 2 cc.⁄100 gr.</br> 3) When the moisture of green sand is 5% or 7%, and clay % is varried from 11% to 17%, hydrogen gas is most contented in the samples at about 15% of clay.</br> 4) Hydrogen gas shows some increases with the decrease of permeability from 400 to 140 A. F. A.</br> 5) The relation among moisture, clay and pinholes is cleared, and 5% moisture and 12% clay of green sand are standard % in order to get sound steel castings.</br> 6) The samples cast in green sand moulds are (3 c.c. ⁄ 100 gr hydrogen gas) more rich than samples cast in a copper mould from a ladle. Therefore the hydrogen gas in molten steel just before tapping must be kept under 4 c.c. ⁄ 100 gr, considering the increase of 1 c.c. ⁄ 100 gr during the interval from the furnace to the ladle.

総合芸術である映画の主要な表現力は映像である。映像表現は絵画や演劇、音楽、舞踏、建築などといった芸術から大きく遅れて誕生したものであるが、人類はその進化の歴史において、「映像表現」を科学技術の伸展に伴って、大きく変化させてきた。「静止画」の中で描かれていた「動画的表現」から、実際にそれらが「動く映像表現」になるまでの過程を探り、映像のもつ表現の特異性を考察する。

この研究の目的は高齢患者の膝伸展筋力と歩行能力の関係について検討することである。対象は高齢入院患者78名(75.7±7.7歳)である。これらの対象について膝伸展筋力と歩行能力を評価した。歩行能力は院内歩行群(n=50),室内歩行群(n=10),歩行非自立群(n=18)に分類した。院内歩行群における膝伸展筋力は室内歩行群,歩行非自立群に比較し,有意に高い値を示した。ロジスティック回帰分析の結果,院内独歩の可否を独立して規定する因子は膝伸展筋力のみであった。膝伸展筋力が0.5を下回る場合,院内歩行自立群は減少し始め,その下限値は0.28であった。0.30を下回る場合,室内歩行の自立割合は減少し始め,その下限値は0.13であった。以上のことから,高齢患者の独歩自立のためにはある程度の下肢筋力が必要なことが示唆された。
