The Board of Tourist Industry (B.T.I.) and the Committee of Tourist Industry (C.T.I), as the solo government administrative organs to attain foreign currency, had promoted to construct "Kokusai Kanko Hotel" during 1930s. The aim of this paper is to make clear states of "Kokusai Kanko Hotel" and resort in early Showa-era. Main conclusions are as follows; (1) B.T.I and C.T.I had understood importance of hotel enterprises and supported the establishments of 14 hotels. (2) Each of their designs had had equipment and appearances for them with resort themes. (3) Most of hotels had been located on tourist resorts between Yokohama to Nagasaki.

Results of computer simulation of the fuel evolution in thorium nuclear cycle in a subcritical assembly in case of thorium-plutonium initial composition is presented in the paper. The simulation is conducted for specialized facility in which a long solenoid with hot plasma is situated inside of the subcritical fuel assembly. The plasma column produces additional neutrons due to D-D fusion reaction that are necessary for a fission reactor with this assembly. Total intensity of neutron emission over all plasma volume with the length of 3 m is N = 2 × 1016 neutrons per second. We have chosen the percentage of plutonium 5% in thorium-plutonium initial composition and in this case, the effective coefficient of neutron multiplication is 0.95, as shown by our simulation. The fuel evolution was calculated for duration of operation time 3000 days. As a result, we have demonstrated the decrease in the coefficient of neutron multiplication and in the power of the nuclear fission process in the described time. Results of simulations are discussed.

On the geological scale, earth history yields vital information concerning past environments and climates. This highlights the urgency for increased collaborative international response and research into solutions of problems posed by current climatic changes, whether natural or induced by the activities of man. Climatic changes occur on variety of timescales, ranging from catastrophic volcanic eruptions (minutes or days), through gradual changes in Earth's orbital parameters (104-106 years) to tectonically driven changes (106-108 years). It seems likely that the long-term fluctuations of climates (less than the time-scale of planetary evolution), which give rise to glacial epochs, are largely determined by continental plate distributions and movement, whilst the shorter-term fluctuations which produce glacial and inter-glacial periods in glacial epochs reflect variations in coming solar radiation.Attention is focussed on the possible existence of an anoxygenic, primeval atmosphere and on the history of atmospheric CO2. Five great biologic revolutions have occurred through earth history that have fundamentally shaped the modern geochemical picture. It is significant that organisms have controlled their own environment. Organic CO2 and calcium budget have played critical roles.

高度の腹水と下肢浮腫を伴う重症アルコール性肝障害患者を漢方エキス剤で随証治療をし, 著効を得た。下肢の浮腫が治療に抵抗したが,「気鬱傾向」と「腓腹筋の握痛」を主たる目標として, 九味檳榔湯を主体とした治療をしたところ下肢の浮腫は速やかに消失した。また, 心理状態と肝機能, 特に蛋白合成能も改善した。肝硬変で, 水毒兆候と気鬱傾向を示す患者では, 九味檳榔湯の適応があると思われた。

梨状筋症候群は,明らかな画像所見を伴わないことが多く,診断に苦慮することが多い.腰椎椎間板ヘルニアや神経症状を呈する骨盤内腫瘍など,他の疾患の除外も必要である.我々は,坐骨神経の解剖学的破格が原因であった2例を経験した.一例は,術前に解剖学的破格が推定できなかったが,もう一例は,術前にMRI検査でT2強調画像と拡散強調画像の融合画像により,術前に梨状筋・坐骨神経ともに2分しているBeaton分類B型の解剖学的破格を診断することが可能であった.梨状筋症候群は,坐骨神経の破格を伴うことも少なくなく,診断には他の疾患の除外診断とともに,特徴的な理学所見の有無,慎重な画像診断による解剖学的破格の有無を予測することが診断の一助となる.

This article aims to draw a connection between organismic evolution and machine learning as recursive optimization processes. Optimization of complex systems presupposes certain forms or designs of the input-output functions. Recent literatures in evolutionary developmental biology have discussed various design features of the genotype-phenotype mapping, including neardecomposability, generative entrenchment, standardization, plasticity, canalization, and scaffolding as means to solve complex adaptive problems through recursive evolution. I point out similar problems and/or techniques exist in the machine learning literature, and sketch some common features in these two distinct fields.

われわれは,大阪大学ゲノム審査委員会の承認を得て,2013年1月より,日本の基幹病院において先駆けて,癌患者に対するケトン食の有用性と安全性の検討を開始し,その結果を,報告してきた.対象は,臨床病期Stage IV,PS0‐2,経口摂取可能な患者とし,他の癌治療の併用は可能とした.ケトン食は,同意取得後,管理栄養士が指導し,最初の1週間は糖質10g/日,2週~3カ月では,糖質20g/日以下,3カ月以降は,糖質30g/日以下とした.標準体重あたり30kcalを目安に開始し,エネルギー補給に際しては,MCTオイル,ケトンフォーミュラを使用した.導入3カ月後でのPET‐CTによる評価を主要評価項目とし,導入12カ月後での生存率の評価を副次評価項目とした.2018年12月現在55例の同意を取得し,現在,その結果を解析中である.癌ケトン食療法は,確かなエビデンスを構築していく段階に移行したと思われる.そのための課題や,われわれの取り組みについて紹介する.

Paclitaxel (PTX)-associated acute pain syndrome (P-APS) is characterized by disabling but transient arthralgia and myalgia in up to 80% of patients administered with PTX. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely administered to patients with cancer who have pain or fever, and are mainly used to manage P-APS. In this study, we investigated how P-APS appear in the patients who were administered NSAIDs prior to PTX injection. The incidence or severity and duration of P-APS in patients previously administered NSAIDs were compared to those of patients who were not administered NSAIDs. The relationship between previously administered NSAIDs and rescue administration for the relief of P-APS was also evaluated. It was revealed that the incidence and duration of P-APS were 72% and 4.67±2.30 d, respectively, in the control group and 84% and 6.19±3.30 d, respectively, in the NSAIDs group. There was no significant difference in the incidence and duration and the severity of P-APS between the two groups. Patients who were previously administered NSAIDs tended to obtain less pain relief from NSAIDs administered as rescue medications, and needed other medication. Univariate and multivariate analysis revealed no correlation between previously administered NSAIDs or patient characteristics and the incidence of P-APS. In this study, it was found that clinical condition that needs NSAIDs and previously administered NSAIDs prior to PTX injection do not affect the incidence, severity, and duration of P-APS. These results will help in educating patients about their medications and will contribute to the management of P-APS.

活性酸素によって生理的に生成すると考えられる過酸化脂質がアレルギー反応に及ぼす影響について培養細胞を用いて試験管内で調べた。アレルギー反応に関与する白血球の一種であるマスト細胞を培養し、人工的に刺激したときに培養上清中に放出されるヒスタミンなどの化学伝達物質を定量したところ、過酸化脂質分解物である4-ヒドロキシ-2-ノネナールはマスト細胞からのヒスタミン放出を促進した。生体内脂質過酸化がアレルギーを悪化させる可能性が示唆された。

Gay identity and gay community are both central topics in gay studies and queer studies. However, the relationship between them remains unquestioned. This paper reveals how the relationship between gay identity and gay community has been shifted from the 90's to the present based on an analysis of discourses on coming-out.Coming-out in the 90's included three important elements: aspiration for making a good relationship, high self-reflexivity and entry into the gay community. However, the latter two elements have disappeared and the meaning of coming-out has shifted. This shift demonstrates that the relationship between gay identity and gay community has become more and more irrelevant and independent.

In this paper, we introduce the Documents of the Yoshimi Family in the Collection of Osaka Aoyama Museum of History and Literature. The Yoshimi Family ruled Tsuwano, Iwami Province, on the Japan Sea coast, in medieval Japan. We reproduced 49 documents of the Yoshimi Family and one related document.
