澱粉を主成分とするジャガイモ,サツマイモ,サトイモ及びナガイモは,米粉パンの米粉と容易に置換が可能である。本研究では,これらイモ類の粉末置換が米粉パンの老化に及ぼす影響について検討した。サツマイモ,サトイモ及びナガイモ粉末で置換した米粉パンの比容積は,いずれもコントロール(100%米粉)と差は認められなかった。しかし,ジャガイモ粉末は置換率の増加とともにパンの比容積が顕著に減少した。サツマイモ粉末で置換した場合,焼成3日後のクラムの硬さは,コントロールと比較して顕著にやわらかいことが明らかとなった。サツマイモ粉末中には耐熱性のβ-アミラーゼが含まれ,パンの焼成中に米澱粉を分解し,大量のマルトースを生成することが示された。また,サツマイモ粉末で置換したパンのクラムには,マルトースが顕著に検出された。これより,サツマイモ粉末中のβ-アミラーゼによって生成したマルトースが澱粉の再結晶を阻害し,米粉パンの老化を抑制したと考えられた。

症例は27歳,女性.産後7日目から食思不振と全身倦怠感が出現し,産後25日目に意識障害を認めたため救急搬送され,糖尿病性ケトアシドーシス(以下DKAと略す)と高アンモニア血症のため緊急入院となった.DKAの改善後も見当識障害と高アンモニア血症は遷延した.先天性代謝異常の既往や家族歴はないが血中アミノ酸分画を測定したところ血中シトルリン低値であり,尿素サイクル異常症が示唆された.亜鉛欠乏(49 μg/dL)に対して亜鉛補充を開始したところ,高アンモニア血症と血中シトルリンは正常化し,見当識障害は改善した.以上の経過から,亜鉛欠乏による一過性のオルニチントランスカルバミラーゼ活性低下から高アンモニア血症を来したと推察された.本例のような長期の食思不振から低栄養状態が疑われる場合には,亜鉛欠乏に伴う一過性高アンモニア血症も鑑別に挙げる必要があると考えられる.

The high-pressure grinding roll (HPGR) has been known to achieve a high mineral liberation with relatively low energy consumption. However, quantitative methods for evaluating the effect of HPGR grinding on the promotion of the mineral liberation of copper ores have not been fully established. This study aims to establish a quantitative evaluation of promoting the liberation ratio of copper minerals by HPGR grinding. We performed clack observation using the combination of the paint penetration method and the mineral liberation analyzer (MLA). Direct clack observation reveals that HPGR grinding can promote the formation of cracks in the product particles. The liberation ratio of copper minerals is related to the percentage of cracks in the product particles. Besides, the grinding tests using a laboratory ultra-small scale showed that the liberation ratio of copper minerals became larger than that of the ball milling alone. In all conditions where HPGR grinding was conducted before ball milling, the ball milling time became almost half that of the ball milling alone. The grinding kinetic constant of the HPGR milling product in ball milling is also determined. The grinding kinetic constants for 80% passing particle size in HPGR grinding products are larger than that in feed ores, and they are consistent with the trend of ball milling time. This might be because the HPGR milling causes cracks in the particles, which are more easily ground in the subsequent ball milling. Consequently, this study demonstrates that the ratio of clacks and the grinding kinetic constant in the ball milling process after HPGR milling can be used as an index to quantitatively evaluate the effect of HPGR milling on promoting the liberation of copper minerals.

The purpose of this study is to expand the application of wastepaper sludge ash (WPSA) as a construction material. The strength and thermal conductivity of WPSA solidified by hydration reaction were investigated for use as a ground improvement solidifier and civil engineering material. The mixture of fly ash, silica fume, gypsum, and ordinary Portland cement was also investigated. The effect of the mix proportion and the amount of the powder mixture on the strength was investigated, and the strength development was discussed based on the XRD and SEM-EDX results. The experimental results showed that the uniaxial compressive strength of mortar specimens with a water-powder ratio of 1.0 was 5 MPa to 9 MPa at 28 days of age. The strength of the mortar specimens decreased with the addition of fly ash but increased with the addition of by-products such as silica fume. The strength of the solidified material using WPSA was lower than that of the existing solidified materials. The strength of the solidified material made of WPSA was developed due to the formation of albite by hydration reaction, recrystallization of WPSA, and pozzolanic reaction with fly ash and silica fume. Then, the reflectance and thermal conductivity of the solidified material were measured, and the thermal conductivity was examined by the heat transfer experiments. The thermal diffusivity of the solidified material was also estimated by analyzing the experimental results. It was confirmed that the reflectance of WPSA was higher than that of ordinary Portland cement. In addition, the re-incineration of WPSA showed higher reflectivity. The thermal conductivity of the WPSA paste specimens was smaller than that of cement mortar and larger than that of gypsum. The results of the heat transfer experiments suggest that the thermal insulation property of the re-incinerated WPSA is improved.

It is obligatory to verify the performance of high-energy-absorbing pocket-type rockfall protection nets by full-scale experiments. While the performance verification by full-scale experiments can provide a practical evaluation, it requires a lot of cost and time because it is necessary to conduct the experiments under several conditions depending on the structure of the rockfall protection net. Therefore, the performance verification by combining full-scale experiments and numerical analysis may be a useful tool. In this study, a full-scale experiment of a high-energy-absorbing pocket-type rockfall protection net was conducted to evaluate the net performance with respect to the required capability, and reusability and repairability of the components by understanding the behavior of the net under the action of heavy weights. Throughout the experiment, the deformation of the net, the change of the wire rope tension with time, and the displacement of the top of the net and the top of the pillar were measured in detail. Moreover, it was confirmed that it is possible to evaluate the performance verification based on the performance requirements. Then, the full-scale experiment was replicated by numerical simulations to examine the effects of the rock shape on the behavior and performance of the simulated net. Through the thorough investigations on the deformation of the net, the relation between the maximum tension of the wire rope and the slip length of the shock absorber, the temporal change of the tension of each wire rope, and the absorbed energy of each structural member, it was judged that the reproducibility of the model predictions is adequately high. Specifically, when the impact energy is constant, the effect of the rock shape on the behavior and performance is considered to be small.

著者は過去の人工気候室実験より、重篤な体温調節障害を持つ頸髄損傷者(以下頸損者)の至適温度範囲 を 25±2℃(但し 50%RH、着衣量 0.6clo)と求めた。しかし、室温 22℃での頸損者の体温調節反応は十分に明ら かになっていないため、それを把握することを目的とした人工気候室実験を行い、頸損者の至適温湿度範囲の下 限値について検討を行った。実験では 5 名の頸損者(39.6±9.2 歳、172.0±4.6cm、64.4±6.3kg)を室温 22℃(40, 50, 70%RH、着衣量 0.6clo)に各 90 分間曝露した。その結果、どの相対湿度でも頸損者の口腔温は実験開始後 20 分 からやや直線的に下降していた。従って、室温 22℃は相対湿度の高低(ビル管法で規定されている相対湿度の範 囲:40~70%RH)に関わらず、頸損者の至適温度から外れる可能性がある。現時点での下限値は室温 23℃50%RH と考えているが、今後、室温 23℃における相対湿度の違いの影響について検討を行う必要がある。

Arthur Collins Maclay, the son of Rev. Robert Samuel Maclay the founder and first superintendent of the Japan mission of the Methodist Episcopal Church, stayed in Japan from 1873 to 1878 as an English teacher at To-o-gijuku (東奥義塾) of Hirosaki, Kogakuryo (工学寮) of Tokyo, and Chugakko (中学校) of Kyoto. After leaving Japan, he went to America and became alawyer, and a well-known author and lecturer on Japan and the Orient.A Budget of Lettes from Japan, written by Arthur Collins Maclay, was one of his activities to introduce Japanese culture to America. This book which was published in 1886, held public attention and won high praises in over seventy press notices.His writings vividly depict the life of Japanese people in the early Meiji Era as well as his own experiences in Japan. The descriptions of Hirosaki especially show us not only a young foreign teacher's intercultural experience in the province but also many facts which have been unknown so far.Since only a few attempts have hitherto been yet made, the purpose of this paper is to introduce Maclay's writings on Hirosaki with explanations of the circumstance and background of that time and to indicate the significance of his descriptions.

A helium cryogenics system for the superconducting heavy-ion linear accelerator (SRILAC) has been introduced at the RIKEN Nishina Center. The SRILAC contains a total of 10 superconducting quarter-wave-length resonators made of pure niobium materials installed in 3 cryomodules; which realizes the beam energy upgrade of the existing room-temperature linear accelerator. The refrigerator, a HELIAL MF manufactured by Air Liquide, has successfully accomplished a cooling capacity of about 730 W and a sufficient helium pressure stability with a fluctuation less than ±0.4 kPa. The cryogenic system started operation in October 2019, and the SRILAC has been supplying beams to experiments since June 2020, along with a stable operation of the cryogenics system. This article provides an overview of the cryomodule and the helium cryogenics system as well as the operational status of the helium cryogenics system.

The purpose of this paper is to reconsider the relationship between the global and local dimensions of environmental ethics. Pluralists criticize global totalitarianism as a typical example of universalism that makes little of the diversity of communities. However, an important question is how the local dimensions of decision-making in each community can be connected to the global dimensions to address common global issues. One view to consider is that of the reflexive modernization theory of Ulrich Beck. This theory shows reflexivity is a common element of modernization, while characters and results of community modernization are various. This clarifies the nature of the relationships between global and local issues. It then becomes possible to define the relationship between global and local dimensions of environmental ethics more clearly by referring to such a viewpoint.

目的 急速な高齢化の進展や人口減少によって,様々な業界で働き手が不足しており,とくに,介護や保育などの福祉業界において深刻な問題となっている。その対応策のひとつとして,自立した日常生活を送れているいわゆる「元気高齢者(アクティブシニア)」を補助人材として雇用し,施設の非専門的な周辺業務を担ってもらう取組みが散見される。しかし,これらの業務への就労意向を持つ者の割合や,その要件は十分に整理されていない。そこで,本研究は,介護補助や保育補助としての就労意向を持つ高齢者の特性を明らかにすることを目的とした。方法 「NPO法人りぷりんと・ネットワーク(りぷりんと)」に加盟している首都圏の絵本読み聞かせボランティア団体の会員で60歳以上の者374人を対象とした自記式アンケート調査を実施し,有効回答295票を得た(回収率78.9%)。調査期間は2019年10月~11月であった。本研究では,介護補助と保育補助のそれぞれについて,「就労意向の有無」を目的変数,「就労関連項目」「健康状態」「社会関係・社会参加状況」を説明変数,「人口統計学的変数」を調整変数とした二項ロジスティック回帰分析を行った。分析に際して,欠測値を多重代入法により補った(10ファイルを作成)。結果 補助人材として就労意向を持っている高齢者は,介護補助で72人(24.4%),保育補助で107人(36.3%)見られた。二項ロジスティック分析の結果,日頃から生涯学習活動に参加している人ほど介護補助へ就労意向を持っており(オッズ比[OR]:2.98,95%信頼区間[95%CI]:1.40-6.34),主観的健康感が高い人ほど保育補助へ就労意向を持っている傾向が見られた(OR:2.41,95%CI:1.01-5.76)結論 補助人材として就労意向を持ちそうな高齢者として,介護補助では生涯学習活動の参加者,保育補助では主観的健康感が高い人という特性が見られた。これらの特性を持った高齢者に的を絞ったリクルートをすることで,補助人材として就労する高齢者の掘り起こしに寄与できる可能性がある。

The 86thAnnual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society was held in a web-based format on March 11–13, 2022. In accordance with the internationalization policy of the JCS, the meeting was held with the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology Congress 2022. The main theme was “Cardiology Spreading its Wings”. The number of patients with heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases is increasing dramatically, and the fields dealt with by cardiovascular medicine are also greatly expanding. This conference was both intellectually satisfying and exciting for all participants, who numbered over 14,900. The meeting was completed with great success, and the enormous amount of cooperation and support from all involved was greatly appreciated.

本研究では,はじめに児童が自己調整スキルを発揮し,創造物を主体的に評価・分析,改善するための学習の流れを考案した(Self-reflection モデル).そして,考案したモデルの学習プロセスに沿って授業実践を行ったことが,自己調整スキルを発揮して学ぶことに対して効果的であったかについて検証した.本モデルの効果を検証するにあたり,フィードバック結果から得た改善案と完成した創造物の修正箇所(以下修正事項)の関連を,本モデルの学習プロセスと対応づけて分析した.その結果,児童が自己調整スキルを発揮しながら創造物を評価・分析し,改善する上で効果的な学習モデルを開発するに至った.

Japanese athletes often use the phrase “Kimochi ga kireta” (“I lost my spirit” in English) when they describe negative feelings during competitions. Although many athletes use this phrase and face this psychological problem, what it means and how it happens have not been studied. The purpose of this study was to clarify the mechanism underlying the “loss of spirit” phenomenon during competitions and the usage of this term, through a qualitative analysis. After semi-structured interviews were conducted with 14 athletes (M=8, F=6; mean age=20.43±1.40 years; mean duration of competitive career=11.64±4.62 years), 16 cases of “loss of spirit” were qualitatively analyzed with the KJ method (Kawakita, 1967) and classified into four types depending on causes of this phenomenon. It was revealed that “loss of spirit” is caused by (a) low motivation before the game, (b) opponent’s attitude or gap in ability, (c) bad tide of the game, and (d) unexpected events. The results also showed that the mental state of “loss of spirit” includes low motivation, decreased concentration, and feeling physical fatigue and pain. Moreover, it is indicated that this phenomenon leads to dissatisfying results in competitions. Therefore, this phrase is often used by athletes because it is a short expression of a mental state with multiple causes.

This study examines whether the psychological tendencies during the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) pandemic differed from that in normal times based on Web-based survey data from two different samples. The target of the analysis was the tendency to avoid infection. In doing so, we considered the house effects of the different survey media and attempted to compensate for them by inverse probability weighted estimation using propensity scores calculated with several covariates. The results showed that even after adjustment, infection avoidance tendencies were higher during the pandemic than normal times. We discussed the significance of adjusting for house effects in the Web-based survey and some of the limitations of this study.

近年, 多くの生化学的・分子生物学的研究から, 現在知られているほとんどの自己免疫性水疱症の抗原物質がデスモソームないしヘミデスモソームに局在していることが明らかとなった。他方, 最近, 次々と, 特徴的な臨床症状・免疫学的所見を示す新しい自己免疫性水疱症の病型が提唱さてきており, これらの疾患の診断にもその抗原物質の同定が必須になっている。Paraneoplastic pemphigus, intercellu lar IgA vesiculopustular dermatosis, 抗エピリグリン瘢痕性類天疱瘡など, 最近明らかとなった新しい自己免疫性水疱症を紹介し, それぞれの疾患の位置付けおよび想定される病因について解説したい。

ヒト仮声帯の組織学的形態を年齢変化および男女差を中心に観察した. 対象は病理解剖された20~79歳までの男女各27例の喉頭で, 各標本の声帯全長を8等分し仮声帯上皮を観察した後, 再構築し仮声帯の上皮の扁平上皮化生 (以下, 化生) の範囲を立体的に評価し組織地図に表し, 喫煙との関連についても検討した. また声帯膜様部中央で仮声帯上皮下組織の観察を行った.1) 化生出現度は中年層がピークだが, 化生範囲には年齢変化がなかった. 喫煙群で後方から前方への化生範囲の進展がみられた.2) 腺組織は加齢により減少した.3) 膠原線維は加齢に伴い減少の傾向で, 弾性線維は加齢により増加傾向であった.

Feeding studies on rice genetically modified with soybean glycinin were performed on rats for four weeks. The rats were divided into three groups, each being fed on (I) only a commercial diet, (II) this diet plus control rice and (III) this diet plus rice genetically modified with glycinin. The rats were fed with 10 g/kg-weight of rice every day by oral administration. During the test period, the rats in every group grew well without marked differences in appearance, food intake, body weight, or cumulative body weight gain. There were also no significant differences in the blood count, blood composition or internal organ weights among the rats. Necropsy at the end of the experiment indicated neither pathological symptoms nor histopathological abnormalities in the liver and kidney. Judging from these results, the rice genetically modified with glycinin is considered to have been essentially the same in nutritional and biochemical characteristics as the control rice.
