@RebeccaRHelm Have you come across this? Might be the best pleuston-related title I've seen for an article (good work @sunfishresearch):

@jethroreading32 Collected one a few years ago and realized the taxonomy had been updated so reevaluated all the SIO specimens. In the process, I found a weird larva and wrote this paper on it: https://t.co/JuVsJAjqis
@TheCageySea @jeffday @jethroreading32 Yes! I posted about it on @echinoblog's QRT of this photo, but that cymothoid is really unusual in a few different ways, not just because of its position, but also the host that it's infecting. See more in this related paper https://t.co/cxHGV84Wc6
Had the amazing opportunity to illustrate a new species of deepwater ctenophore discovered by @NOAAFisheries Mike Ford and @collins_noaasi. Go check it out. #sciart #scicomm #Science

Basking shark ontogeny needs a lot more study. Of particular interest to me is the beak-like snout shape in really young individuals, which so far has only been documented in a single paper. This is a juvenile caught in Japan in 1977.
