Surface temperature distributions of tree crowns were examined with thermo-couples and infrared thermal images in June and October. As to the temperature difference between the crown surface and the ambient air, thermo-couples show partially higher surface temperatures in the daytime by 8℃ at the highest. However the temperature difference obtained with the thermal images ranges from -2〜0℃ to -2〜2℃. Since the thermal images directly show the radiative temperature distribution, it is concluded the average radiative temperature on the tree crowns is almost as same as the ambient air temperature.

This paper overviews how the author's group has been exploring on the decision-making process with social dilemma of individual vaccination, namely whether or not to be vaccinated, by means of the model of dynamics for epidemic spreading on a social network applied to evolutionary game theory. On underlying networks, both epidemic and information of agent's strategy are transferred, where the former is modeled by SIR and the latter is emulated as a spatial evolutionary game. Simulation results imply that both the vaccination acceptance fraction and final epidemic size are significantly affected by how strategy updating happens; namely whether he/ she copying from a neighbor or imitating a social trend, and underlying network topologies. The study poses one example of how the social physics helps to understand complex phenomenon taking place in a real world.

The velocity field in a naturally ventilated building within urban-like arrays was explored by means of large-eddy simulations. The reduced-scale building models were utilized to examine the impact of the geometric conditions in surrounding buildings and cross-ventilating windows on flow statistics as well as instantaneous velocity fields in a sheltered building. The obtained results indicated how the incoming flow was propagated in the target building. Although simplified conditions were employed, the present findings of the features of cross-ventilation are valuable to consider the effect of outdoor turbulent flow to indoor wind environment.

An improved cellular automaton model based on Yanagisawa & Tomoeda , Nishinari (2007) was established, where both Static Floor Field and collision effect were considered. Several model parameters were carefully determined by going through a turning process based on experimental data provided by other previous studies. Both results by simulation based on the model and analytical approach derived from the so-called Mean-Field Approximation proved that the outflow rate from an evacuation exit, usually estimated by the so-called flow coefficient, can be improved by putting appropriate obstacles in front of the exit. This is because the appropriate allocation of obstacles can deflate collision probability at the exit by increasing collisions around the obstacles before the exit.

一連の風洞模型実験,Large Eddy Simulation(LES)に基づく数値実験により,建築物を主体とする地上の粗度要素が大気境界層下端への熱・空力学フォーシング(強制力)として如何に作用するかに関して,その素過程解明の端緒を得た.[流体物理科学への貢献]また,都市キャノピーモデルへの適用,更には街区内歩行者レベルの温熱環境予測評価大系への応用を念頭に置き,上記の熱・空気力学フォーシングを実際には複雑系である都市や建築の幾何形状を適切にパラメータライズすることで,バルク輸送係数としてモデル化した.[都市環境工学への貢献]

In order to reproduce both transient dynamics and space distribution of an urban population only derived from a simple self-organism principle, a multi-agent simulation model is established. A resident agent tries to move to a cell so as to maximize his own utility that is defined by both effects of distance from the urban central and population density. The so-called "doughnut phenomenon" as well as growing Densely Inhabited District (DID) can be emulated qualitatively, even though the model bases on a simple self-organism rule.

An ultimate objective of this study is not only to depict the reality of academic society, possibly embracing some sort of ambiguous degrade in its stable and established environment, but also to propose a certain strategy to avoid this, overcome this and build a better preferable future. First of all this study, in this report, a really challenging trial to build a human-academic society model dealing with the future prospect of its activity based on so-called Complexity Model, was done. Mathematical framework of the model was precisely described. And actual calculations of its artificial society were carried out on a particular Discrete Type Simulator. Results of simulations led to consider much interesting and marvelous facts.

We deduced that it is possible to define the Dilemma substance in the so-called dilemma games by the fact, a cooperative strategy cannot be dominant. This simple but clear definition can provide a firm way to a quantitative evaluation for the dilemma intensity in order to compare other types of dilemma games, for example, between Chicken and Leader Game. On the pathway of our deductive discussion, two important concepts concerning the Pareto Least and a parameterized expression procedure for the game structure were presented. In particular, the latter concept seems to be quite breakthrough to overview holistic 2×2 game world including Prisoners Dilemma, Chicken, Stag Hunt, Leader and Hero Game. And a practical explanation going through 2×2 game was presented about what we defined as the dilemma substance seems to be plausible from the viewpoint of the Replicator Dynamics.

As a marvelous predicting and estimating methodology for the Heat Island in an urban area, Architecture-Urban-Soil Simultaneous Simulation Model, AUSSSM was entirely established. The revised AUSSSM is evolved from the former proposed AUSSSM by not only replacing but also newly adding several sub-models. Each sub-model expresses complex phenomenon such as one-dimensional vertical distribution of air temperature, wind velocity and humidity ratio in urban canopy, artificial heat generation from buildings and traffic, evapotranspiration from vegetation, transient evaporation from artificial surfaces shortly after precipitation, dynamic performance of cooling load and HVAC system in buildings. These sub-models have been developed in authors' former works. One of the most important features of AUSSSM is the fact that each sub-model has relatively same level of its accuracy, which leads practically correct and significant solution under the constraint of limited computational resource. And following theoretical description, the Standard Solution assuming a business district in Tokyo was presented.
