This thesis aims at proposing a new system of bus service on a regular route, clarifying several factors making for this proposal. It is noted that there has been a significant change in the transportation systems from public to private. This change has brought about inconvenience to the disadvantaged such as the senior citizens or the disabled persons. In this view efficient use of the bus service is regarded as one of the positive means to solve the problem.

Whereas the Ou region had a reputation for a large and fertile land in the 8^<th> century, it was said in the 19^<th> century that the whole region was worth the value of just one mountain. Giving a geopolitical overview of the Ou region from the Jomon period to the Edo period, this paper considers the reasons for the extremely different assessments of the region between the 8^<th> century and the 19^<th> century. Since the Tushima Current flew into the Sea of Japan 8,000 years ago, the region periodically went through four cold climate. While during these Neoglaciation the cold weather often damaged crops, the locals of the Ou region enjoyed the blessings of nature during the warm periods. This climate cycle, together with a political factor of whether the region was independent of the central authority, resulted in the different assessments of the region. The good reputation of the 8^<th> century was made in the region's politically autonomous and climatically warm period ; and the bad reputation of the 19^<th> century was corresponded with the period of subordination and cold climate. The prosperity of the Fujiwara clan at Hiraizumi in the 12^<th> century was the peak of the region's thriving period that began in the 8^<th> century. The I9^<th> century reputation stemmed from the 600-year cold climate period between the late 13^<th> century and the 19^<th> century as well as the consequence of the Tokugawa shogunate and domain system. The Ou region was severely damaged during the last 150 years of that cold period in particular. Even in this period, however, the population of the West side of the region slightly increased. This was partly because the damages caused by the cold weather were less severe than the East side of the region, and partly because that district yielded lots of commercial commodities. Thus, there was a differential between the East and the West parts of the Ou region at the time. This implies that Masamune Date, who understood the East-West differential, failed to take an opportunity for moving to the West part of the Ou region when the Mogami fief was deprived in 1622.

This paper describes one of the answers for the elementary question : "Why does the universe exist?" through the view point of 'the anthropic cosmological principle'. Also was shown that the size of human body was entirely determined by the size of the earth, that is, its radius and mass, respectively. This fact means that the possibility of human-beings' existence cannot be separated from a certain fine-tuning of physical constants. And the reason why the universe is so is because human-beings exist at present, that is, the existence of human-beings make possible to exist the universe at present that we can observe now. Finally, the author proposes the inter-disciplinary new field of science : "Mathematical Science of Art", as one of the Liberal Arts subjects.

Inland waterway tourism in Europe has been nowadays developing from the 50s of the former century, inheriting the developed waterway transportation system. This paper aims to give an overview of this tourism, especially in France. The inland waterway tourism in France is based on three dimensions : "blue", "green" and "gray" At first, the blue dimension is the most basic element of this type of tourism, which is repesented by river cruise and leisure navigation in inland waterways. Then "green" dimension is concerned with the rural tourism practiced near the waterways. At last "gray" dimension represents the urban areas where waterways flow. These three dimensions constitute so called "le tourisme fluvial" in a wide sense. And this synthetic type of tourism can contribute to the regional development. The government and local governments are trying to promote this tourism.

This research aims to evaluate the present standings and propose future development of the internship program at Miyagi University (MYU). This will be presented to the management while it analyzes the circumstances and display the enforcement plan carried through since 2003. Although business internship is in practice in the metropolitan area by the major big companies, this case at MYU, we designed it as a solution type internship for sophomore students. The acceptance was higher than we expected and it can be expected further educational effect by the effort of the faculty and local companies located in the Sendai area. The MYU internship model is a program for the selected members, and they valued for its various resources and well planned program rather than expansion of enforcement for bigger scale.
