In various operating of a crane, the fixed coefficient controller is not suitable to obtain the good control performance, because of the crane characteristic fluctuates by change of the suspended rope length and the suspended load. In case of the rotational crane, moreover, we also must be consider the effect of corrugation angle in order to acquire sufficient performance. In this paper, we propose a strategy of control for the rotational crane using variable pole assignment method in which closed loop poles of control system becomes fixed values for the change of the rope length, the change of the corrugation angle and the change of the load. The effectiveness of proposed control system is confirmed by the computer simulation, in addition, it was also confirmed from the experiment on anti-sway control of actual rotational crane.

This study was primarily constructed to examine the effects of prompts and topics on EFL essay writing proficiency. In this study, three different types of essay prompts and topics were used to see if these different combinations make a difference in the quality of persuasive essay writing that EFL high school learners produced. Three groups of intermediate EFL high school learners performed persuasive essay writing tasks with three different prompts and topics respectively. The results of this study suggest that the clear directions in the prompt on any topic play a significant role in the quality of writing the learners are able to produce. Moreover, it is found that prompts or topics have a significant impact on learners' performance in different aspects of writing ability. The paper ends with making suggestions for pedagogy and essay writing assessment.

The population changes of giant water bugs and seasonal changes in their suitable habitats were investigated in paddy fields in Inasa-Cho, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan from July 1997 to December 1998 to obtain a basic ecological understanding of this species. Our results showed them to appear for only a limited period between May and August. The investigation also revealed that the sites investigated were breeding grounds for the species and that the period between June and August was the growing season for the larvae. During the period in which the species was observed, the water temperature and the population density of tadpoles were higher, and a water depth of approximately 20cm was maintained due to water management for rice production. On the other hand, no giant water bugs were seen from September to April of the next year. During this period, the water temperature and tadpole population density were lower and the water was shallower, at less than 10cm. Therefore, in the sites investigated, the presence of giant water bugs changed with the schedule of the water management of the paddy field. In addition, the growing period of the larvae was consistent with the period in which the water temperature and the population density of tadpoles were higher. Next, the relationship between the population of giant water bugs and the population density of tadpoles, which are prey species for the water bugs, was investigated in June 1999. Paddy fields with higher population densities of tadpoles showed greater populations of giant water bugs. It therefore appears that the propagation of the giant water bug depends on the population densities of frogs.

本研究は、公共哲学の視座から、地域コミュニティにおける人びとの支えあいのあり方を探ってきた。研究は、規範理論の研究と、実証研究としての地域の居場所の事例研究とに分けられる。規範理論の研究においては、コミュニタリアニズムという規範理論の「徳」「共通善」という構想が、支え合いのバックボーンとなることが示唆された。ケーススタディにおいては、支え合いを体現する居場所づくりの実践が、オルタナティブな人称的な連帯を作り出し、結果としてオルタナティブな親密圏が構築されることが明らかになった。

The purpose of this study is to examine shot skill of free throw in male college basketball players. Subjects were two male college basketball players (subject A: good shot-skilled player, subject B: poor shot-skilled player). Their forms during shots of free throw were recorded by using a digital video camera. The displacement of ball and joint angle were calculated from obtained video data. The velocity of ball which are released was faster in subject A than in subject B. Behaviors of changes of joint angle in subject A were similar to subject B. However, from the point of view of the "motor conduction", the conduction was inferior in the subject B than in the subject A. These results suggest that differences in the "motor conduction" may affect shot skill of free throw in basketball, and kinematics data obtained from video camera are useful as the index of motor skills.

日米中の自動車産業をグローバルなレベルにおける生産構造の転換と制度化との関連から検討し、地方政府と企業による多様で重層的なネットワークの形成過程を検証した。中国の自動車産業の急速な台頭には、世界的な自動車産業の新興国への生産移転というグローバルなシフトが背景にあり、日米の多国籍自動車企業と中国自動車産業との間における競争と協力関係、また中国の地方政府との協力関係など国境をこえる生産ネットワークが発達したことが大きい点を明らかにした。グローバル経済の視点から、多様なネットワークをベースにしたリージョナル・ガバナンスの生起の検証を通じて、日米中を基軸とする公的な地域統合と実態としての経済統合との親和性を明らかにした。

深非弾性レプトン・ハドロン散乱過程におけるクォークの破砕関数についての理論解析を行った。クォークのスピンおよび横運動量を取り入れ、多重破砕過程を記述した。その際、3次元の運動量保存側およびアイソスピン保存側を表している和側を満たしている理論の枠組みを作り上げた。クォークのスピンに依存しない破砕関数をスピンに依存する破砕関数 (Collins 関数)が互いに連立していることが分かった。クォークのダイハドロン破砕関数に関して、破砕チェーンの中間状態におけるベクトル中間子の寄与を取り入れ、数値解析を使ってダイハドロンの破砕関数を定量的に予言した。ハドロン中の分布関数、形状因子および応答関数も求めた。

A concept of Twelve-Tone Technique by A. Schoenberg (1874-1951) is one of his "musical ideas". It originated in the music after the loss of tonality, but it was characterized by the function of tonality : while the tonality gave the unifying and articulating character to musical form, so he thought that the musical work composed by Twelve-Tone Technique should have a "comprehensibility" with the unifying and articulating character. Consequently, Twelve-Tone Technique was a symbol of New Music, but is based on the traditional concept of tonal music. So, with this technique Schoenberg gave a direct expression to his musical works.

海上での海洋気象パラメータの日内変動について研究した。研究には海上ブイによる観測データと衛星観測データを使用した。ブイデータに対してDaily mean march dataの作成、調和解析、あるいはスペクトル解析を行い、各観測点におけるいろいろな海上気象パラメータに対して、その振幅の大きさや位相変化を明らかにした。さらには、複数の衛星データを利用して、高時間解像度の海上気象パラメータプロダクトの構築に関する研究を行った。

本論は,東海大学教育開発研究所が2003年4月から7月にかけて東海大学付属望星高等学校1年生を対象とした「英語BASIC」の授業を研究授業として実施した際,アクション・リサーチを実施することによって,教師と生徒,また,生徒どうしのインタラクションがどのように変化していったかを分析してまとめたものである。授業の流れや活動内容を記録し,問題点を話し合い,改善のための方策を立て,さらにその方策が適切であったかを検証する連続したサイクルを通して,授業がどう変化していったかを分析し,まとめたものである。

The origin of gnosticism is variously discussed. Among possible influences on it the strongest candidates are, according to Mr. Arai, Platonism and Judaism. I think that Indian influence should be included though its force is limited. This problem is so difficult to solve that I start my study by collecting historical materials relevant to it.

Between April 1998 and October 1999,Nao Yatabe visited some Orthodox Church in Japan for research on the state of the iconostases of these churches. First, she classified the churches by the date of establishment and did the iconostases by district where they were painted. Then, she make reference to the distinctive iconostasis of Osaka Orthodox Church and Sapporo Orthodox Church ; the former was made in Russia to commemorate fallen soldiers of the Russo-Japanese War, the later was made in Japan, and the number has been increased with development of the church. On the bese of this date we (Professor Fujio Matsumoto and Nao Yatabe) intend to add more examination of her research from the point of iconographical view.
