In this thesis, first of all, summarizes of a general view of the international theory research trend which concerns motivation of developers of open source software, are shown. Based on this theoretical research, empirical analyses in the motivation of developers of open source software in Japan, through the questionnaire survey to developers, are done. And, the process that Gift Economy is embedded in Exchange Economy is clarified.
