In the fall of 1999-2001, hatchery-reared masu salmon <I>Oncorhynchus masou</I> juveniles were stocked in southwestern Hokkaido rivers. Catches of these fish in coastal commercial fisheries were estimated by sampling landings during 2001-2003. Recovery rate estimates ranged between 0.67 and 0.84% (mean of 0.75%), approximately 1.8 times and 0.36 times those reported previously for fry and smolts, respectively.
