The marriage preparation is the substance used for marriage ceremonies. The marriage preparation is arranged by a bride or her household. And it is conceived that is the foundation of a family's daily life. Based upon the field survey taken from Taipei and Tainan, the usage of marriage preparation at different eras-Japanese colonial period (1895-1945), the period of KUOMlN Administration (1946-1979) and present (1980-). Historical transition of marriage preparation has been related to their status in wedding life as well as reflecting the social circumstances at each period.
