ベトナムの首都ハノイでは、「タイグエン茶」とよばれるベトナム緑茶が、都市の日常生活のなかで、老若男女、経済階層の上下に関係なく愛飲されている。中国茶と同じ製法のこの緑茶の大半は、出稼ぎ労働者を通してハノイに広く流通している。茶屋は元手がかからず、必ず収入になる仕事であるが、通りに開かれた「固定茶屋」は、地域住民が地域のために開くという特徴がある。この茶屋を通して民衆独自のネットワークが築かれているが、茶屋は茶を提供するだけではなく、嗜好品という口直し機能がある。「外」の固定茶屋は、職業や階層を限定せず、ゆるやかに地域を超える地域社会ネットワークがはられ、茶屋をめぐる社会性を創り上げている。茶屋には、家の台所機能もある。朝の茶屋では、学生や近隣住民の、朝食を摂る姿が多くみられる。茶屋は自宅代わりの空間にもなる。このように、茶屋は情報交換の場としての集積機能として、男女の出会いの場、物の値段の相場を知る場、人びとが情報を共有する場になっている。茶屋は、地域住民以外の休息の場、簡易的な市場機能ももっている。地域の両替商としての機能をもち、売買の行為が交錯する場であり、簡易市場にもなる。地域住民以外の者が地域に認められる、現地コミュニティへの登竜門の場にもなっている。こうして地域のコミュニティ意識を共有することで、茶屋が地域社会の安全保障をつかさどる、フィルターの役割も果たしている。茶を通して都市住民が、自主性を発揮してコミュニティ生活を送るとき、そこでの共同性は、旧住民だけや一つの住民層に限られるのではなく、開かれた共同性を創り出す。こうした路上の固定茶屋が入り込めない通りや市場内では、簡便な移動茶屋が、民衆に的確に茶を提供する。まさに、茶はハノイの社会生活に欠かせない文化の基層をなしている。This article aims at analyzing the present active situation of penetration of tea culture into the corners of every street of old ward of Hanoi, the central commercial area of capital. In terms of it, this article intends to analyze the flourishing of tea culture in the daily lives of urban setting of Hanoi. First, the writer explains the rough sketch of supposed diffusion route of tea culture to northern Vietnam, process of tea production especially in the Thai Nguyen region, most famous region for tea production in Vietnam, and its sales and circulation to Hanoi. Next, the writer shows multi-function of tea spot in the street of capital such as communication tool to participate in the community activities, to strengthen the solidarity in the street society, and to integrate young and old, male and female, community members and outsiders etc. The writer reveals that tea spot in every street has become the receptacles not only to collect urban native dwellers, but also to receive the immigrant workers from villages and rural areas to work in the town. Finally, the writer is going to prove that tea culture as a whole has been forming indispensable important networks in the daily lives of Hanoi to constitute the urban social structure by integrating different economic classes.
