The gardening and the herb making are highlighted recently. As for managing of the person's touching the soil, and planting the plant, it had a long history, and to obtain provisions of life, such managing was done originally. However, it tries to make the effect of healing for the person etc. who employ the handicapped person, the senior citizen, and the stress a purpose exceeding the purpose that this gardening obtains food necessary for life and grows a plant now, and to obtain a new role by the name of horticultural therapy. Then, it introduced the practice case with horticultural therapy, and consideration was added. It has understood how it is important to take up the practice case with horticultural therapy in foreign countries, to understand needs of an individual client accurately, and to assemble and to practice the best treatment plan. Moreover, the typical one was taken up, it paid attention to a working purpose, an execution method, and a concrete execution method, etc., and the practice case was considered from among the practice that had been done up to now in Japan. As a result, it was clarified that horticultural therapy was applied by a wide object person named the participant of the senior citizen with the rehabilitation patient in the hospital and the dementia, mentally deficient person, and the abstention from drinking association also in Japan. It has been understood that the difference has been installed in a purpose of horticultural therapy and a concrete execution method according to unlike of the object person. Moreover, when practicing it, it was reconfirmed that it was clarified that the volunteer accomplished the key role, and the horticultural therapy volunteer's promotion in Japan was important. Finally, the problem and the problem of horticultural therapy were taken up. The importance of organizing for the accumulation of the data of social systematization and horticultural therapy and horticultural therapy promotion and the goal settings in five points were clarified with the promotion of the professional skill person of horticultural therapy, the establishment of the function, and the gardening volunteer as a present problem. It especially came to think that the approach at the country level such as the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare was indispensable about the approach of horticultural therapy by the university level to which the difference greatly attached with the United States.
