This brief paper is an original and preparatory step to understand the whole works of Machiavelli especially bringing into relief his word of the <arte>and its plural <arti> in a different way that never done. The chief works to be analyzed here are Il Principe, Discorsi and Dell' arte della guerra, i.e. major political prose works of Machiavelli. In this paper you will see the list of sentences which include the keyword above with several examples of Japanese translation and my consideration to the specific meaning of this word will be also showed, the <arte> and <arti> do not signify mainly a technique but a profession, profession that is moreover accompanied by a unique moral sense of Machiavelli.
