An epidemiologic study of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation was undertaken at our hospital.200 patients with this condition were operated in recent four years.To all cases, we sent the questionnaire.85 patients were successfully interviewed.It was found that this condition was most likely to be diagnosed among the male sex in the age group of 30's, and the female sex in the age group of 30's, 40's, and 50's.In the occupation, more than half of the male cases were hard-workers and more than half of the female cases were clerks and house-wives.
