Bioelectric potential on the leaf surface of a plant named schefflera abroricora have been measured to investigate the 1/f fluctuation. The potential is classified into two types; namely, one is changeful and the other is changeless. The maximum potential difference across the leaf is a few millivolt, and various random and periodic waveshapes are observed. Power spectrum of the plant is well approximated by a straight line in log mV versus log f plot. Therefore, the bioelectric potential of the plant seems to be fractal. But, the fractal dimension depends on each data. The 1/f fluctuation is also found for the correlation coefficent 0.81〜0.89, but it is not obtained for the coefficent above 0.90. Other interesting phenomena such as synchronization phenomenon and a firing response for the external electric stimulus are observed. Observed voltage waveshape is also changed depending on position of electrodes.
