We present here an overview of the activities of the GIGAKU Top Global University (TGU) project in the Basque Country. Starting from the initial collaboration between the Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) and the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), we describe the establishment of the BC3–NUT Office and introduce the most relevant institutions that participate in the GIGAKU-TGU project: University of Deusto, Mondragon University and MONDRAGON Corporation. Then, we summarize some testimonies of former exchange students who have realized internships within the framework of the GIGAKU Techno Park Network. Finally, we present our conclusions drawn from the last six years of institutional collaborations and from the personal experiences of the internship students.
