For measuring the flow of water this method has been applied in field efficiency tests of turbines in hydro-electric power plants in our country and others, especially in America, as this method does not reguire the accessibility to the inside of penstocks as compared with other methods. According to the codes on the simple Gibson Method in our country or in America, it is necessary that the penstocks through which the flow of water is being measured be straight conduits. Literature on the essential studies on the errors of the gibson method are few and no clear conclusion has been reached concerning the errors. In this paper, the author carried out the model experiments with a straight pipe line of 3 inches in diameter, 75 meters in length, 9.6 meters in static head to chech the errors in the Gibson Method, and determined the causes of the errors and also determined the
