This study is an attempt to solve the problem of the distinction in usebetween the honorific prefixes O- and GO- which have not been studied verymuch before. It is normally said that the prefix GO- must be used with akanji word immediately before it、 but actually there are some kanji wordswith the prefix O-、 which have been thought of as exceptions. In thisstudy we will prove that the semantics of all the exceptional kanji wordswith the prefix O- is considered as a tool or an instrument.

In Japan, the modern drama, which is an important element of thecontemporary art, begins with the foundation of the Tsukiji Little Theaterin the year 1924. This era, the second half of the 1920s, also coincides withthe end of the so-called "Taisyo Democracy". The task of this study is toanalyze the effects of the Tsukiji Little Theater and the diverse historicalsituations revolving around it. This task will inevitably lead us to considerthe basic character of the "modern" in Japan. This paper, the introductorypart of the whole study, limits the range of discussion to the fundamentalproblems only.

This paper examines the countermeasure against the national development policy of the concentration in Tokyo. In the 5th Comprehensive National Development Plan, the policy of renovating large cities was set forth for the first time. The Plan needed the logic that raising vital power of Tokyo area would affect local areas. This logic is the regional edition of trickle-down theory. Its typical project is the Project of Renovating Cities. The policy based on the trickle-down theory is enlarging the income inequality and regional differentials.
