Technological-singularity arguments belong to a common fallacy of equating science and technology on intelligence, meaning, etc. with those on machines, materials, etc. More important and feasible is to dramatically improve the intelligence of the entire society by increasing the value of various services through hypothesis-test cycles using socially sharable data. This is part of cognitive science, along the view that both individual-level and social-level cognition consist of such cycles associated with values and meanings.
