Conductive polymers have been studied extensively because of their attractive physical properties, such as conductivity, luminescent performance, and dielectric property. Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) is one of the most employed conductive polymers for applications, such as a buffer layer of organic electroluminescent devices, due to its high conductivity and electrical stability. In this study, we fabricated a conductive paper coated with PEDOT by direct polymerization onto a paper sheet. The conductive paper exhibited the electrical conductivity of 1.8 S/cm. Scanning electron microscopy images of the conductive paper showed two structures: thin polymer membranes attached to cellulose fibers at the surfaces, and thick polymer sheets extended through the void spaces between the fibers in the inner layers. Consequently, strong interactions between the PEDOT and the cellulose fibers enhanced mechanical properties of the conductive paper. This paper shows that it is possible to track the changes in the distribution of power within a couple by focusing on the changes in the pattern of private consumption when the consumption decisions are efficient and private consumption is separable from public consumption in individual preferences. We first show that the separability of private consumption from public consumption at the individual level carries over to the household level. Hence, changes in public consumption only matters through a change in the residual budget available for private consumption. When the consumption decisions within the household is efficient, private consumption decisions can be modeled as the solution of a problem consisting in maximizing a weighted sum of the private-consumption sub-utility functions of the spouses under the residual budget, the weights being unique and representing the distribution of power over the allocation of private consumption. The model presented in this paper can be used to analyze the changes in the household resource allocation due to, for example, childbirth.

We focus on inference about high-dimensional mean vectors when the sample size is much fewer than the dimension. Such data situation occurs in many areas of modern science such as genetic microarrays, medical imaging, text recognition, finance, chemometrics, and so on. First, we give a given-radius confidence region for mean vectors. This inference can be utilized as a variable selection of high-dimensional data. Next, we give a given-width confidence interval for squared norm of mean vectors. This inference can be utilized in a classification procedure of high-dimensional data. In order to assure a prespecified coverage probability, we propose a two-stage estimation methodology and determine the required sample size for each inference. Finally, we demonstrate how the new methodologies perform by using a microarray data set.
