Magnetite is synthesized from the mixed solution of urea and iron (II) and iron (III) chloride at about 100℃ for 5h or 15h, in the magnetic field of 10000G. Brownish-yellow β-FeOOH suspension is initially formed by the hydrolysis of iron (III) ion and magnetite is finally formed in each condition. From the results of Mossbauer spectra of the products at room temperature, it is clear that the surface of magnetite prepared for 15h is oxidized easily and that changes to amorhous γ-FeOOH or γ-Fe_2O_3 or Fe(OH)_3.
