Only two pholadomyid bivalves, i.e., Pholadomya (s.s.) pacifica Dall, 1907 and Pholadomya (Nipponopanacca) sakuraii Habe, 1958, are known from seas around Japan. The third and new species of Pholadomya (Nipponopanacca) is described here from Japan. A single valve from Taiwan of a possible, fourth and new species is described and illustrated, but no formal name is proposed.
