This paper is a part of my study on drawing methods for computer graphics to make Japanese cartoon. I suggest a technique to illustrate hair by using toon rendering method. Firstly, I outline the relation between the toon rendering and animation. Secondly, I explain a technique to write hair on a three-dimensional computer graphics (3DCG), and consider about problems we face when applying it to animation. Finally, I suggest a method to make a contour model for hair automatically to solve the problems.
