地図や空中写真をはじめとした空間情報を含む資料は、"どこ" という空間的属性からの検索が困難であることや、資料の作成・保存・公開組織が多岐に亘ることなど、幅広い選択肢から目的とする資料を発見するにあたって大きな課題がある。本発表では、国際的な図書館目録の標準 MARC21 と地理情報分野における地理データのメタデータ標準 ISO19115 とをクロスウォークする AEI Map Metadata Schema の設計を通して、メタデータ記述の側面から課題解決を試みる。また、メタデータ上の空間的属性情報をより有効に機能させる方法として、Place Identifier(PI) に準拠した地名辞典による、地名典拠コントロールの可能性に触れる。The aim of this presentation is to propose a way to solve such issues of the access to the materials which include spatial information, for example maps or aerial photos, as the difficulty in retrieving materials by spatial attributes or as the scattered materials in various organizations. Firstly, I propose AEI Map Metadata which can crosswalk between MARC21, which is an international standard of library catalog, and ISO19115, which is a standard of metadata in the domain of geographic information, as a solution from the aspect of metadata. Additionally, I mention the possibility of place name authority control by Place Identifier (PI) gazetteer.
