This study evaluates the correlation between bacterial contamination and time of hand washing. It isbased on the results reported in 2nd report, which were obtained under the cooperation of total 183nursing students of the first grade. The result is following; washing in water takes an average of 16.5 seconds. When using soap, beating ittakes an average of 38.8 seconds, and flushing it takes an average of 20.0 seconds. Washing in theantiseptic solution takes an average of 33.0 seconds. Those taking shorter time for washing in water have the tendency to do so also for the other ways, andthose taking longer time for washing in water have the tendency to do so for the other ways, too.In the case of washing in water and in the antiseptic solution, the improvement of bacterialcontamination can be expected when done for not less than 21 seconds, but, as for washing with the soap, there was much unevenness about the result, so the general correlation is not clear about it
