論説はじめに1 政府・日銀の在外金融資産勘定と資産残高2 日銀・政府の正貨収支の数量的検討3 1920年代の在外金融資産の動向と日本の正貨・為替政策結論と展望1920年代における日本の国内外での正貨保有の実態を、日本銀行保有史料を用いて残高(ストック)と収支(フロー)の両側面から明らかにし、その分析結果から日本の対外金融政策を再検討した。特に、海外保有正貨の有価証券(外国政府証券・日本政府外債)への運用に着目し、日本の在外金融資産の構成と対外決済構造の変化を指摘するとともに、研究史上通説となっている。「在外正貨の払い下げ」と「在外正貨の枯渇」への評価に対する新たな論点を提示した。This study elucidates the actual conditions of Japan's specie holdings both domestically and abroad during the 1920s using the historical documents and statistics held by the Bank of Japan, thereby reexamining Japan's foreign monetary policy. Particularly focusing on investments of foreign specie holdings in securities (foreign government securities, Japanese government bonds issued abroad), this study highlights a change in the composition of Japan's foreign financial assets and the foreign settlement structure, and proposes a new perspective towards "the drying up of Japan's foreign specie" in the late 1920s, which are commonly held views in the past studies.
