本研究は,地域社会研究会の発足時に興隆しはじめた住民運動論の展開を振り返ることで,その方法的な見直しが迫られている地域社会学の課題と克服の方途について考察することを目的とする。その第一報として,ここでは1970年代後半~1990年代の住民運動論の検討を中心とする。ここで指摘したことは,以下の諸点である。 第1に,住民運動論を振り返るうえでは,問題設定の変遷と,研究から切り出した住民運動の様相の変遷を明らかにすることが重要である。第2に,この時期の住民運動論では,住民運動に肯定的な姿勢が主流であるが,否定的な姿勢を持つものも見られた。第3に,住民運動の発生に関わる生成過程の分析は豊富だが,運動生成後の展開過程の分析は不十分であった。第4に,さまざまな地域の多様な住民運動を扱いながら,基本的な方法論は共通していた。 I tried to clarify the trends and the problems in sociology of region by analyzing of studies of residential movements. As a result, the following points became clear. First, it is important to notice the transitions of problem and the aspects of movements for analyzing of studies of residential movements. Second, there are two types of study ── positive movement studies and negative movement studies. Third, analyses of formation are sufficient, but analyses of change are insufficient. Fourth, these studies have common method.
