本稿では、Faith-Based Organization(FBO)の社会参加を分析する視角として、「独立性モデル」と名付けた類型化モデルを提示する。独立性モデルは、母体となる宗教組織からの独立性を概念化したものであり、「人的資源の独立性」、「経済的資源の独立性」という2 つの変数を用い、FBO を「自主自立型」、「人員動員型」「資金依存型」「組織内在型」の4 つのパターンに類型する。本モデルはFBO の組織構造に焦点を当てた分析視角であるため、査定しがたい「宗教性」に惑わされることなく宗教組織の社会参加の様相をとらえることができる。また、共時的な諸団体の比較だけでなく、同一FBO の通時的な比較を行うことで、活動団体のダイナミズムを観察することも可能になる。/This paper applies an analytical perspective, called the Independence Model, to study faith-based organizations (FBOs). Focusing on the structure of FBOs, this model conceptualizes the level of independence of an FBO from its religious organization. The Independence Model consists of two variables: "human resource independence" and "financial resource independence". Using these two variables, the model can categorize various FBOs into four types: self-standing type, mobilized type, sponsored type, and internal group type. Since the model is based on organizational structures, it is possible to analyze FBOs without being confused by the ambiguous term "religiosity". Using this model, we can compare various FBOs and observe their structural changes over decades as well.
