The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of Japanese websites that provide information about the treatment of eating disorders. Web searches were conducted using Yahoo! Japan and Google Japan. Two reviewers evaluated whether the websites were evidence based. A total of 41.9% (13/31) of the websites on anorexia nervosa and 57.1% (16/28) of the websites on bulimia nervosa were evaluated as evidence based. An assessment on accountability revealed that the overall quality of most of the websites was poor.
