おさしづは、言葉の補い方によっては、さまざまな解釈が生まれる余地がある。おさしづの意味するところをおさしづ自体から解釈することは可能であろうか。本稿では、おさしづ全体に統計的手法を適用することで、おさしづに見られるさまざまな「理」の基本的な枠組みを見出す試みを行う。 採用した手法は、数量化Ⅲ類である。適用にあたっては、おさしづ正巻に含まれる3857 本のおさしづをサンプルと見て、各おさしづが「ある用語(カテゴリ)を含んでいるかどうか」を調べた。カテゴリとしては、正巻における用例数が多い「○○の理」と「動詞+理」に対応する「○○」と「動詞」を基本とした。パタン分類を試みると、カテゴリは7つのサブグループと、それをまとめた4つの主要なグループ(身上MG、事情MG、神一条MG、順序MG)に分類された。 この結果からすると、初期、中期には「神一条」が、後期には「順序」が主要なテーマとして説かれたようにみえる。そして、「神一条」については、「神の方へ」ではなく「神から」の方向性を持っていることが確認される。「順序」については、時間的順序、一列きょうだいの中の順序という形で説かれたことが確認された。なお、「○○の理」の解釈にあたっては、「理」を伴なわない「○○」全体から解釈する方が望ましいことも示唆される。There is room for the instructions in the Osashizu to be interpreted in various ways depending on the words to be added as aid. The question is whether the meaning of the instructions in the Osashizu can be interpreted on the basis of the Osashizu itself. This paper is an attempt to discover—by applying a statistical method to the Osashizu as a whole—a basic framework of the term "ri" [truth] that is used in many ways throughout the Osashizu. The method used is quantification method III. As the sample, 3,857 directions in the official volumes of the Osashizu were each analyzed for inclusion of particular terms (categories). Based on frequently used expressions, "<…> no ri" [truth of <…>] and "<verb> + ri", the corresponding "<…>" and "<verb>" were picked out as categories. The pattern classification revealed seven sub-groups, which can then be grouped into four major groups (mijo [physical disorder] MG, jijo [trouble] MG, kamiichijo [straightness from God] MG, and junjo [order] MG). The analysis shows that "kamiichijo" was used as the main theme during the early and middle periods of the Osashizu and "junjo" during the last period. Further, "kamiichijo" can be found to imply movement, not "toward", but "from" God. "junjo" is shown to be used in the sense of chronological sequence of events and mutuality among all people as brothers and sisters. It is also made clear that the phrase "<…> no ri" should be interpreted from the entire instances of "<…>" not accompanied by the term "ri".
