They released new recordings only between 1962 and 1970. However, their music is still listened to by millions of people; books and articles about them are continuously published; and social media is awash with fan groups. Since they broke up acrimoniously, a battle has been fought between pro-John Lennon and pro-Paul McCartney fans and writers. American women, too young to remember the group, have recently been examining the way the story has been told. One set of analysts is a trio of podcasters; the other is an historian. This paper outlines their analysis.
