In a cooperative based classroom, students are taught to take responsibility for their learning and not to just expect to rely on the instructor for all of their learning. Jigsaw activities optimize the student's active participation time during class. A cooperative based classroom using a jigsaw activity can help students become better foreign/second language learners.
