This thesis draws varieties and diachronic transformations that hotel architectures in Tokyo had before the war, based on five keywords, "acceptance of foreigners in enclave", "symbol of modernization", "renaissance of Edo Meisho (notable sights in the Edo era)", "mature of civic life", "innovation and new style" applied to the development concepts in which the five social backgrounds were heavily involved.
