Abstract : Tennyson's last collection of poems, The Death of Oenone, Akber's Dream and Other Poems, was published in 1892 when he died. We can find what Tennyson wished to suggest before his death in this collection. He wanted to believe that the future of mankind would be hopeful; however he could not but see many ugly and dirty realities in his life: wars, violent deeds, religious problems and so on. His optimistic prophesy of mankind in future is not based on certain facts. After all it seems that he died without solving his doubts. Key words : death, future, mankind, doubt
