Biotope gardens are construction projects aimed at preserving and restoring regional ecosystems. These projects require a great deal of geoenvironmental engineering with clean soils and groundwater. However, since Biotope related projects are at an early immature stage, it is important to examine as many case studies as possible for their better promotion. In this paper, the Biotope garden in Fujinomiya city is described, where the earth structures were especially designed to restore the ecosystem including fireflies.
