We have developed novel functional materials by coupling electronic transport with ionic conductivity in nanosegregated liquid-crystalline (LC) systems. In this study, a polymerizable LC perylene bisimide derivatives 1 and 2 bearing two cyclotetrasiloxane rings and an aza-crown ether unit complexing with ionic species were synthesized.
