In Japan we can find two rooms designed by JamesTurrell, famous contemporary artist. One is "Open Sky"; belong to The Chichu Art Museum in Naoshima. And another one is "Blue Planet Sky", belong to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa.Like twins, two rooms were designed very similar. But visitors will face very different situations in each room. The atmosphere of "Open Sky" may enforce ceremonious behavior to the visitors. The visitors of "Blue Planet Sky" should be able to take cozy spaces. The difference of the ideals of the museums caused the situations. The Chichu Art Museum anticipates the enthusiast of contemporary art.But the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art aims to be the contemporary art evangelist. The difference had been shaped by the situation of the museums and the industrial policy of local governments. So If we would make the room designed by Turrell in Fukuyama, We should have to choose the way of Kanazawa.
