日本経済新聞社は,日本経済新聞,日経産業新聞,日経流通新聞,日経金融新聞と英文日経の5紙を発行し,マクロからミクロまで内外のあらゆる経済情報を収集し,分析,加工,蓄積している。これらの情報は新聞製作システムANNECS,総合経済データバンクシステムNEEDS,ニュース速報配信システムNEWSに入力,3つのシステムが有機的に結合し総合情報システムとして新聞,データサービス,ニューメディアへと情報を提供している。ここでは,新聞製作システムANNECSについて開発の経過とシステムの特徴を中心に紹介する。Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc., commonly known as Nikkei, is the publisher of five newspapers- The Nihon keizai Shimbun, The Nikkei Industrial Daily, The Nikkei Marketing Journal, The Nikkei Financial Daily and The Japan Economic Journal (English weekly). It not only publishers newspapers, but also analyzes, processes and stores in its electronic data bank a full range of economic and business information. Annecs(Automated Nikkei Newspaper Editing and Composing System) is the newspaper production system that utilizes this vest store of information. The system is organically integrated with two other in-house system-NEEDS (Nikkei Economic Electronic Databank System) and News (Nikkei Economic Wire Service), enabling the firm to provide information in three different forms--news papers, data service and electronic media. This introduction focuses on ANNECS's characterics and the process of its development.
