The purpose of this paper is to study the difficulties of bringing up a child for the mother of a oneparent family, if her mind is preoccupied unsatisfied housing conditions. Even today mothers in one-parent families have economic and mental difficulties in bringing up a child by themselves. If the mother's mind is too preoccupied with her dissatisfaction about everyday life, she will have problems in looking after her child who needs her attention. One mother attended thirty two sessions of group counselling to get advice about how to cope with her son. However, she did not learn anything from the group. She needs to have basic necessities for living first.
