Two great authors, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, were influenced greatly by Dickens and spoke of him as that great Christian writer. But like so many Victorian writers, he was not conspicuously devout. He was reticent on the subject of religion, but we can let an earnest letter which he wrote to the Reverend D. Macrae speak for him. ... . All my strongest illustrations are drawn from the New Testament: all my social abuses are shown as departures from its spirit: all my good people are humble, charitable, faithful, and forgetting. I cream them in express words as disciples of the Founder of our religion ... In his work, he puts a religious emphasis on the New Testament rather than on the Old, on Christ rather than on Jehovah. First of all, this study is to show the base of the his faith through his itineracy of his Christianity, and secondly to examine the relationship his religious beliefs and the Bible through his works, his letters and his will. Finally I view from the Bibles role as allusion in A Christmas Carol.

The present study examined correlations between nature and imagination in Beatrix Potter's works. Firstly, to understand her personal history, all her life was divided into four stages, and the contact with nature in her life was investigated. Secondly, passages from the Bible were presented which influenced her use of words and the structure of her tales, and the main features of her works in which she showed deep love and understanding for nature, particularly the nature in Great Britain surrounding her life. Potter didn't write how much she loved nature directly in her tales, but readers can feel her love of nature through her pictures in her books. Finally, this study presented in detail these correlations between nature and imagination in the process of creating her tales, especially "The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin".

George Eliot describes elaborately the everyday life of simple people in the story of Silas Marner, as the same way of other works, besides treating delicate psychology, feeling and thoughts of the people in the story, related them to the developing interior change in the characters. Her moral thought is to expand sympathy. It is stressed that the individual human cannot live in isolation from the community, and there is a significant importance attached to the interpersonal interactions and the necessity to mutual cooperation together among human beings. This essay will examine the process and the reasons that Silas Marner became isolated from his community, and how he restarts from the despair after being robbed of all his coins. In conclusion this paper will emphasize the necessity of love and sympathy in this process.
