This study is intended to clarify the structure of the region Alsace by comparing port towns that developed along the river in Alsace. For each era, clarify 3 topics, REGIONAL STRUCTURE / URBAN AREAS / URBANSTRUCTURE, with a focus on the relationship with the waterways. Through the diachronic analysis from middle ages to modern ages, it is intended to reveal how Alsace had developed associated with waterways.
