米国フェルミ国立加速器研究所の陽子反陽子衝突型加速器テバトロンを用いて行われている大型国際共同実験CDFとD0でのヒッグス粒子探索の結果と今後の展望について報告する.The CDF and Dzero experiments at Tevatron protonantiproton collider at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois, USA, have recently set the upper limit of the Higgs particle mass to 185GeV/c^2 by measuring the top quark mass and the W boson mass precisely. They have also excluded the existence of the Higgs particle with a mass of 170GeV/c^2 at 95% confidence level through direct search for the Higgs particle. The Tevatron experiment will have two or three times more data of which analyses will make the allowed Higgs mass region narrower and may result in finding evidence for Higgs particle production.
