In the period of the Mongol Empire, Ju-ren 儒人 (or Ju-hu 儒戸) had scholarly talent, so theywere treated very well, and exempted from labor tax. In early times, namely under the rule ofEmperor Ogudei 窩濶台, the privilege was given to family Ju-hu, but later, namely under that ofEmperor Mongke蒙哥, to each person Ju-ren.
